Re: QT Week 2
Looks right to me.
Would predict that the second place team taking the 20th D1 spot will be coming out of the F or B bracket if these are in fact the brackets for next weekend.

Which holds more weight, your seeding going into the bracket, or how a team placed in their bracket. Because there are two brackets where the lower seed placed 2nd. In bracket E, Dallas Juventus was 29th, but came in second over FC Dallas, who was #20. And in Bracket A, Sting West-West was #25 but came in second over Liverpool Hughes, which was #24.
Just curious:)

Sorry I left out Bracket D, looks like #28 Cosmos, came in ahead of #21 Sting Harr

As the Wolf has been lamenting all week...the seedings don't change. Only adjustments would be for teams that played in the same Week 1 bracket. I didn't check that so could be some adjustment.

Re: QT Week 2
Well I guess I'm going to have to agree with Wolf on this one:) Seem like if a team beats someone in their bracket who is ranked above them, then maybe the ranking was wrong to begin with for one of the two team?
So my next question is, when do you think next weekend's schedule will be out?

Re: QT Week 2
in group "A" Sting West finished ahead of L'pool Savage b/c Solar Red beat us worse than they beat them. Sting West is a good team and I was impressed with the TX. Lightening team also...Being impressed with Solar Red goes without saying...they are incredible...
best of luck to all next week and congratulations to those who qualified for Division I this weekend...

Re: QT Week 2
if you are a Sting West parent, all I can say is,
GOOD JOB.
I thought we had it, and your girls fought back and took it from us. Great game nonetheless. Im sure we will be seeing each other, maybe not in the upcoming season but maybe in tournaments.
you have a good group of girls.
Peace

Re: QT Week 2
I'll take a stab at the week 2 bracket breakdown assuming toro's brackets hold.......please hold your tomatoes. The biggest question for most will be who nails down the #20 spot. The #20 team would be a team capable of scoring quite a few goals (say 5 or more) for a #2 team in their bracket where the #3 and #4 teams are soft. The wildcards may be the determining factor
Wildcards
Solar Gold....Although they are not a candidate for Div 1/2 their propensity to keep scores low will eliminate the #2 team in their group from #20 contention.
Galaxy/FWU are two #2 teams (in my opinion) although one of them will get a ticket to the Div 1. This means the tournament committee got their rankings wrong.
Cosmos Black.... the committee ranked them grossly incorrectly to begin with. Will they continue on this trend or will the committee right the wrong and give them the top seed in the Galaxy/FWU bracket.
Breakdown
A - Texans Red.....they will walk through this one based on their previous blowouts against the supposed opponents
B - Juve Black....The game against Cosmos will be close but Juve will come out on top. Juve received the shortest end of the ranking stick during week 1 (should have replaced Aztecs if you ask me) but they'll qualify this go round. Cosmos got the shortest end of the ranking stick for round #2 as the committee is completely missing the boat on this team. They are top 20! I think they will get the #20 spot because they will put up enough points and not give up any goals against the other opponents in the bracket except Juve which should give them the goal differential advantage versus the rest of the potential #20 teams.
C. TFC Blue.....they'll walk through
D. Solar White.... Solar Gold will keep Texans North from having a shot at the #20 pick because they will keep them from scoring points. Texans North is a decent team with a bad draw.
E. Toss up and team that goes through will be whomever can score the most points against Club Classic. My coin landed on FWFC in the upset over Mustangs/Juve North. I think all of those games will be ties. The end result will be that neither Mustangs nor Juve North will be able to score enough points to over take Cosmos for the #20 spot.
F. Sting Harr......but TFC will make it extremely close and this one could come down to goals scored against other bracket opponents. Harr was another team that the committee wasn't so kind too but they'll make it through in a tough one. The runner up in this bracket will challenge Cosmos for the #20 spot but I believe the presence of Texans South in this bracket may keep the Harr/TFC goal scored down relative to Cosmos and it's softer bracket.
G. FWU......over Galaxy. The tie against TFC Blue in QT gets them the nod. Though I think either of the teams will have a very long year in Div 1/2 next year.

Re: QT Week 2
Nice analysis Smarty. More please? Some others on here are very interested in the battle for D3. What are your picks for the 10 going to D3 and the 10 going home? (ouch that's harsh - some of the teams going home will be good teams who had a bad day or a bad draw.) Based on the above, looks like seeding will play an even bigger role in this round than they did in round 1.

This is all very interesting....being this is our first year involved in anything other than REC.....our girls had a great Puma cup but just didn't have a good day today. I too am interested in who you think will battle for D3 and who will go home......

Re: QT Week 2
If they seed how they seeded the 99s last year, these are what the groups should look like. I know everyone is saying that they are not going to reseed, but what does that mean? I am asking seriously. They say that they will avoid putting teams together that played last weekend, so Sting Abbott might be moved, but couldnt switch with Celtic due to Celtic having played Texans North already.

You have Sting Abbot playing FCD Red, which they played in bracket play, along with other errors. I agree with Toro's brackets

QT Bracketology
Wow, the board is actually getting interesting again. I like the friendly chatter!
1st bracket
I see DT Platts walking away with 30 points in the A Bracket
and Solar Blue taking the DIII spot. Tx Lightening
has survived when they had all of the odds against them. This team deserves the props for defying the
odds. I love a good underdog.
2nd bracket
Juve black will take care of business and also take 30
points. I expect Cosmos to take the 2nd
place and claim a DIII spot along with Sting West squared.
3rd bracket
TFC Blue should the D I spot, but Juve Gold Savaged Liver
will not just lay down. Ina B will be
happy to hear, that I expect two of the D III spots to come out of this
bracket. Juve Gold and Savaged liver
should be placed in D III.
4th bracket
This is a tough call.
The new Solar White will have it’s hands full this weekend. The question will be if Solar White has had
enough time to bond and how well this new team can play together. DT North just might pull an upset here and
take the bracket. I will still go with
Solar Davis to pull it off, but it will be a close one.
Solar White to DI, DTN to D III along with FCD red to D III
5th bracket
The Mustangs will take the division with convincing
wins. This team had great results in
Tut, but didn’t perform as well this weekend.
I expect the Mustangs to come back to form against the lower seeds.
Mustangs to D1 and Juve North to D III
6th bracket
This bracket will be the one where the 1st and 2nd
seed are going to bank on the points.
Both Harr and Grado can capitalize on the lower seeds. This should make Harr the 20th
seed. Because all of the points will be
in the first two slots, this could leave this bracket with only two D I
qualifiers.
7th bracket
This is a bracket that could easily flip. B Pratt has increased his team with some very
good additions. Because these two teams
are so close, they will split a lot of points eliminating the elusive #20 spot. I am predicting FCD Blue to take the bracket for the D I spot with Grado going in to D III. FWU has been impressive and they could play
the spoiler roll. FWU should take the
last D III spot.
