Dr. Montgomery did both a scope and microfracture surgery on my left knee, he was awesome. Don't know what time frame your dd has for surgery, might pick out a couple and meet with both.

After 10 months, my DD was close to her level before the injury. In some ways she is better equipped after the injury due to the rehab / sprots specific training that has been done to this point. From what I hear it takes 18 - 24 months to fully recover from the injury.

Dr. Nicholls recommended using a cadaver since her growth plates were open and did not want undue stress put on the patella tendon due to growth activity. He also did not recommend using the hamstring due to her age. Make sure you use a surgeon that works with youth injuries of this nature.

Dr. James Burnett
Arlington Orthopedic Associates

My 13 year old had a patella tendon replacement in December and she is playing again.

The one person that has seen more and helped rehab more players in the NTX area on ACL injuries is by far Steve Parker, his website in www.sportsmedcentral.net

Dan Cooper is one of the best, also Corey Paine. Talk to Steve, and he can even help with getting you in quick to the ortho.
