LH starts next week.

Post  96Guru on Fri Feb 05, 2010 11:41 am

Well, things have been very quiet in the 96 group. With league starting next week, I thought we could get something cranked up in here. I know the weather outlook isnt looking very good for next week. The last I saw, they were predicting possible snow on Thursday and Friday. I know the winter has been tough on everyone for practices. While indoor gives the girls touches on the ball, its just not the same.

D1 opens on 2/13 with Texans vs. Solar and Feet vs. FC Dallas. 2/14 will have Solar playing Revolution which I am pretty sure is the make up game from the Fall and will set the state cup seedings in place. If history proves correct, Solar will get the win and move into 3rd place ahead of Solar Red.
Seeding breakdown: Sting, Texans, Solar, Solar Red, Feet, FC, Mustangs, Rev, Spirit. Of course, we alll know that number of teams can shake things up on how state cup creates brackets.
Lets hear from everyone and get the ball rolling. How are the 96 teams with high school players handling things over the winter? I know some teams have a couple and some have more.
Hope everyone is doing well.

If it rains Monday and again Thursday as predicted, Chinn Chapel will be un-playable.
With our current weather pattern, I doubt the girls will play much soccer in February.
BTW: The fields at PHP were looking good a couple weeks ago. Too bad for us

I'm not seeing it for this week. Had over 1.5 inches of rain at home in North Plano. Solar 96 is still trying to get last Fall's Revolution game played. Will it ever end???

Might be easier to don life jackets and play water polo. Somewhat of the same concept and at least games wouldn't be "rained" out, but maybe "sunned" out????

Lets just hope the Spring isnt as bad as the Fall with so many make up games during the week. That had to be a scheduling nightmare since we play at so many different places.

I confess ... in my house we are hoping for one last weather cancellation ... 2-17 ... as the league game conflicts with a key district game for her HS team. :-(
