Looks like Tornados have 1st place D2 pretty much in hand. The race for second however looks pretty interesting. This weekend results tighten the race a whole lot more. Anybody have any thoughts on who the favorites are?

I would go with Sting Royal as the favorite for 2nd spot in D2. Getting second does not mean much other then you will be ranked third in u13.
2 D1 teams come down and 1 D2 team goes up.
Team MP W D L GF GA Pts
1: DFW TORNADOS WHITE 98 12 11 1 0 28 5 34
2: STING ROYAL 98 12 8 2 2 32 6 26
3: TFC 98 12 8 1 3 29 17 25
4: REVOLUTION PREMIER 98 12 6 2 4 26 18 20

I agree Metro , sting royal has played both Tornadoes and TFC and are on a bit of a roll right now. TFC and Revolution have yet to play each other .TFC is trying to adjust to new coach on the fly. Revolution is always tough. IMO Revolution and TFC will be playing for 3rd. Still early in the season however.

I will go out on a limb and say TFC will finish 4th and possibly 5th.
Flat 4, 2 touch soccer looks great but does not put numbers in the W column at U12, when you play teams that have 1 or more girls that will blow right past your defense if they make a mistake and they will.(IMO) Just look at FWFC Red playing with the flat 4.

True FWFC plays flat 4, but IMO you guys have better talent. I'm I right to assume that this is a recent change for you guys?

The girls have played a flat 4 before but it was determined by the team we were playing against. Every game playing a flat 4 regardless of who we are playing is new.

I thought two D2 teams move up to D1 after the Spring? Not right?

When you make the jump from U12 to U13, the number of teams in each division is reduced from 10 to 9.
DI - 2 teams drop, 1 moves up from DII (9 total)
DII - 3 teams drop, 1 moves up from DIII (9 total)
DIII - 3 teams from DII, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in DIII, and 4 spots open in the QT (9 total)
This is assuming LH does it the same way as last year.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Metro on this one - TFC will very likely end up in 4th or 5th by the end of the season. Without the forced coaching change, they probably would have been fighting DFW Tornados for the top spot, but now it appears that there are too many girls that do not have the same desire as before and are just playing out the string. I believe I stated in another thread that the "TFC Slide" has begun. What I meant by this is that it is now inevitable that some of the better talent on the team will leave this 2nd tier club and will be replaced by lesser talent. That didn't appear to be the direction when AW was coaching as we already had 4 - 5 "upgrades" that were expressing serious interest in joining the team if it was coached by AW. Mr. Ed will probably not attract the same level of talent and the inevitable slide has begun.
On the positive side, the TFC 98G team now has girls setting new personal bests while juggling the ball and might have some that are now challenging the TFC Blue & White girls for juggling supremacy - a focus by Mr. Ed!!

I seem to recall a TV show about a talking horse called "Mr ED" and an episode where he kicked a football through the uprights of a goal post, I must have missed the soccer juggling episode, that must have been a good one. Does he also give the kids rides on his back at practice?

Tornados need 10 points to clinch if Sting Royal or TFC run the table. Which both could do easily IMO, so its not over yet. Either teams lose or ties then I would say its at hand for the Tornados. I thought Liverpool was going to be a force this half but the 3-0 loss to Sting West was surprising. Although Sting West is playing good soccer, they handled the Tornados until they scored 2 goals in final 8 minutes to prevail. My vote Sting Royal will take second based upon the info I am reading on this post about TFC. Otherwise I feel TFC is the stronger team.

Ilik2wach, Suprised to hear that you're so negative about TFC. My friends on Sting Royal thought that your team played them tough, played more of a finesse, ball control game than they had seen before from TFC. They said it was obvious that the team is still finding its way, but they were impressed.

Nice try, but not exactly what AG thought when she contacted AW following the game to ask what happened to the team. I will not hide that I have no respect on a personal level for Mr. Ed and how he has been less than forthcoming with his "explanations" to the entire TFC 98G team (girls and parents) and hides behind a statement that "it's just not appropriate to discuss". Of course it isn't "appropriate" because if the truth were known, not only would he be seen for how he completely botched the entire situation, but the "other side" in the AW hearing before North Texas would be very interested in knowing how everything played out behind the curtain. Unfortunately, I sit back and watch the unraveling of the team that AW and a few others (myself included) worked hard to build. I did give my word to Mr. Ed that I would not be involved (other than getting my dd to team events) unless Mr. Ed tries to drag me in or further disparage me. As an example, he has his TFC PR machine floating the idea that I was really the one working behind the scenes to damage AW so that I could take over the team.

AW and I have had a good laugh over this one. I can keep my word but am not sure if Mr. Ed will fulfill his commitment, something he has not been able to quite accomplish to date. I wish all the girls on the team great success but can't say the same for Mr. Ed.
If you are so unhappy with the situation, why don't you just go to North Texas and get your dd's recreational release and move-on so she can practice with other teams since you don't think she's accomplishing anything by juggling.
