The progress of the team play from the first game to the fourth game was remarkable. The NTX dd's were playing their first games together while their four opponents have been playing together for nearly a year (according to a SoCal assistant coach I spoke to). The individual talent on the NTX team was evident in every game. Our girls were just lacking that familiarity and comfort with each other and a new system of play for most of them (4-3-3, with not applying pressure on the defenders in our attacking third and the three mids pinched in).

By the final game, our girls looked good, really good. NTX clearly had more chances than WA and generally controlled play. The parents walked away from the final game wanting a re-match with SoCal A. With the progress our girls made over the weekend, it would have been a much tighter game.

There was some great combination play by our girls at times and all five goals NTX scored were quality.

There is a sub-regaional tourney planned for Dallas for the second weekend in June. Come see for yourself!

Getting whiplash between the two of you Itsmes. Very Happy While it is very gratifying to hear that the team that went to California did so well for a first outing, I did want to mention that there will be multiple ODP girls teams playing in the sub-regional prior to heading to the ODP camp in Norman, Oklahoma. It will be great to see all of the ODP girls play in their teams prior to heading out. Go ODP 2000's. cheers
