Just curious how many girls made it out to ODP yesterday since they changed the time from 6:00pm to 10:00am. Did anyone at ODP look at how many teams were playing yesterday from 8:00am to 2:00ish?

I would put the attendance rate at about 50 percent. The email on the time change said that the change was "per IAD" not ODP. Sounds like the tail is wagging the dog. I'm glad there are currently no more sessions scheduled for IAD. I'm less than enamored.

What was it about their training sessions did you not like or would like to see more of?

I've always thought that the TWINS were probably one of the best trainers for kids in the metroplex. We were unable to attend yesterdays training due to league game. However, I thought the first training with multiple training stations was great.

It was a good session but not great. Stations featured the following (footwork, shooting, 1v1, 2v1, 3v2, and then scrimmaging, perhaps 7v7) Comments are relative to other ODP sessions: increased time standing around waiting to participate in drills, seemed less organized, fewer girls participated, fewer girls resulted in diminished talent level in DD's group, coaches seemed less engaged.

I just wish my DD had been able to be there. Unfortunately she has been out with a torn ligament. We get to have another MRI tomorrow and then talk to the doctor next Tuesday to see how she is doing. It is killing her to miss team and ODP play right now.

Just be thankful your DD could be there. Smile (There is always a brighter side!)

I tend to agree with the sentiment above. I heard the same thing from parents that had DD's in the top group through the lower groups. Many of which are excellent futsal players. The sessions at IAD just haven't lived up to what was experienced last year.

Sorry to hear that she's out with an injury. I hope the MRI and Doctor visit turns out to be nothing serious.

is that typical with all ages? ive heard the u12 group has like 10 coaches. Im just wondering if it gets smaller after 1st year.

the younger ages will carry several teams to tourneys, camp, etc. therefore a need for more coaches, as they get older ODP will start only taking one team per age group per event, with a need for lesser coaches. For the girls, HS age, they start just taking one team, at least that has been our experience. They will continue to carry around 65 players in the pool, but there is never a full showing for practice, usually one or two coaches manages the group just fine.
