ODP -Summer Camps - Budgeting
ODP -Summer Camps - Budgeting
I am trying to budget time and $ for the summer for my DD. We are looking at a couple camps we have always attended locally and possibly looking at choosing an out of state camp. But she's in ODP first year and not sure how that works for the summer.
When will the schedule for ODP Camps come out?
Do all players selected in ODP go or only select ODP players attend?
What was the cost?
When were the camps?
Do you recommend attending other camps or just the ODP camp?
Did anyone in their opinion do too many summer camps?
Thanks for your input!

All players selected in the first year will be eligible to attend camp
$600
June
My opinion ODP camp has been the best!
I believe there are better options available for training skills other than summer camps.

At $600 no financial aid, they are raking in $65k if 6 teams of 18 attend.

It is 6 teams and $650.

Re: ODP -Summer Camps - Budgeting
I'm wondering if I need to pack snacks, or will they provide them? My "reward" method of providing snacks after soccer events will be sorely tested during this camp.
One '00 team is being invited per the email, to answer someone's question previously.
Can any 00 parent chime in on many went last year? I thought the stocky guy with the funny accent (required of course to be a futbal expert) said four teams of 18 players. Wonder what happened? With six teams, will they have enough coaches?

I figured all the teams would be green, there is enough of it being made, and I heard Juan was staring his KDP program, cheaper and way more dominate - well only more dominate in 01s.

Kick's younger teams are no joke. Wouldn't be surprised if Kicks club growth explodes within the next few years. 05 boys just won ESPN copa. 05 and 06 girls are top notch. It's not all JM by himself anymore as he's got good coaches on board. They're not mere recruiters but building a great foundation with the young ones.
I even hear they had to split the 2010s into two teams because they already have ten players and half of em go to goal and get mad at the other half for crying on the field. Ok. Slight exaggeration, but they really do have two '10 teams.

There is no crying in Kicks. That is the only exaggeration. :-)

Number I got for 01's from the office is 144 girls in ODP out of >300 which tried out.
Many girls have conflicts with other Soccer activities related to thier clubs and will not go to Camp over thier club activity. Also $650 for this camp vs other camps if you have to choose.... one or the other most are going to choose the camp where their DD has many friends going vs only 1-2 or none!
At this point we are considering not to attend
