Curious to know, how did they earn extra cash? If they do what they said they would, then any cash they would have given to refs for those games should be going back to the teams. Where else would the extra cash come from?
Yeah if they don't refund any money, sure that's where it will come from but I also said if they do what they said they would do then where is it coming from?? Guess we will know in a few days/weeks if they live up to their word or not. You are assuming they won't is how I'm interpreting it.
Not trying to pick a fight, just trying to understand how they will make extra money.

00scrmon- you seem to be in the know with Lightning. Do you know when they will be contacting teams about the refund?
I'm not...just going off what I've been told from those I know at lightning and our manager (not with lightning). They have contact information on their website.

Ref fees would be approx $35 per team per match. We better be getting back more than that.

I had asked that question earlier but no one responded. Does the city charge them by the day for the field use? I assumed that but got no confirmation.

Yeah, except that the fields were used for their friendlies that they set up on Sunday.

You are correct, that is my assumption. I could be wrong. Only time will tell if they live up to their word.

Re: PUMA CUP CANCELED
So they cancelled. From the biggest complainers I still haven't heard what suggestion they have or what they would have done. Please throw it out there for us because I guarantee it wouldn't be possible. For every parent (who ruin youth soccer to begin with) who has a problem with the cancellation there would be as many or more that had issues with it being moved somewhere else or rescheduled for a weekday for example. Those are city owned fields and if the city shut them down then they shut them down....GET OVER IT.

Re: PUMA CUP CANCELED
The city did not shut down the fields. And obviously the fields were playable as there were games played there on Sunday. In the past I know Puma has also been played in Cedar Hill.
Was that not an option this year? Someone who knows (this excludes you poker)

It is now mid week and not a single word from TL on this, they have been taking a bashing and nothing, not a word. Their reputation has already taken a huge hit, the longer they stay silent the worse it will get.

It won't matter, TL tournaments will NOT take a hit. See the Hurst Turkey Shoots. The 2009 was a disaster and there were plenty of teams in 2010. 2010 was just as bad or worse and the 2011 & 2012 still drew lots of teams. Granted, Hurst changed their board after 2010 and worked hard to make up for those nightmares. I contend that even if they would have had the same crew running the 2011, it would have been well attended.
There are not enough teams with that good of a memory, or that are on these forums, to shut down a tournament.
