He deserved it he was warned many times before during and after. When they tossed him he pulled his dd off the field and walked away with the game ball. ...kinda funny he took the ball. ..lol.

Championships games were called VERY fair IMO..

I heard tons of yellow cards were issued to the FCD Grubb team during this tournament. Is that correct? If so, what happened?

I think it was 4 total yellows

The refs were much quicker to pull them out compared to what I've seen in LH's ...

A fair amount of home cookin' occurred in our bracket and semi-final games and that is putting it mildly ...

Glad we were able to fight through those ...

Or maybe our LH refs could be a little quicker to pull cards out (both red and yellow) and keep games from getting out of control and protect the players a little better

    You don't say !! 4 yellow cards in 5 games??? . That's like a card per game

That is setting a reputation!!!! I don't think it has anything to do with the refs being much quicker in pulling them out....

To be fair though, it will be better to know how many yellow cards the other teams received just for comparison....
We can start with Sting and FCDB which each played 4 games total.

Do you guys ALWAYS have to sling mudd ???

...One of the yellow cards that was given was to one our MOST passive players on the team!!! ..promise u she would NEVER have recieved a card in LHGCL. My dd got 2 ... because I'm sure you were ALL assuming it was her.

Refs were BAD in bracket play!!! One ref was even texting on his phone during the gm. NO yellows were given in the final!

No slinging mud on my part...and not singling out any team. I think Pele makes a decent point when he asks how the cards were handed out to comparable teams in the same event. Unless you are thinking that bad refs were somehow biased against your specific team.

Only making the observation that our LH refs are incredibly slow to pull a yellow card and almost never pull a red card (even when they are deserved). SR is as physical as any team out there and our girls deserve cards as much as anyone else.

But as the girls get bigger and the contact becomes more intense, I just think the refs could control the physical play better thru more liberal use of cards.

now, now my dear, where is the love

A little jab and boooom, I am being accused of mud-slinging? If I do mud-slinging I guess will be red-carded for murder..
Actually Gotsoccer got mud all over the face, I bet he/she was slinging some of that.....

All in all, and I do hope you agree with me here 007, four cards in 5 games might be considered a bit too much for any team.
I think it was not like it was the same refs for all your games, but if different refs saw different things and all different refs variably pulled the yellows, then I guess that will have something to do with the team and not the refs.

I wonder if the refs in Phoenix were 'texting' the LH refs on how to call on your team!!!!

I am still with you though, a better picture will be to see how the other teams faired in cards, then may be we can all say what Gotsoccer said " The refs were much quicker to pull them out compared to what I've seen in LH's ... "

FYI, no yellow/red cards issued to either FCDB, Sting, or either of their opponents in any of their games played in Phoenix.

    So...what conclusion have we reached???
Is it that Matt's girls are just too physical and dirty, or is it that being physical enough to earn some yellows will win you a championship?
    Just sayin'!!!

Yes, the girls just deserve a "good job" winning and that's it. Congrats. Maybe after this week people will talk about something else.
