Texans Fall Festival Predictions
Texans Fall Festival Predictions
Bracket A
Cosmos - Strong league play climbing to #10 D1 spot - could be a spoiler
DT 03 - Strong league play, weak tournament showing last weekend - can they rebound to make it out of bracket play?
DT Red South - Ripping up Arlington Premier League this season - could make some games interesting
Sting 03 - Steady season so far, should cruise through bracket play with little resistance.
Bracket B
DT South - Couple of late season draws, but a rest last weekend should have them fresh and ready to kill the bracket
Sting Hilton - Solid team, tough draws this tournament may prevent wildcard spot
Sting Skaife - This will be one of those "learning experiences" for Skaife
Bracket C
FCD Premier - I like Premier to upset Elite. Notorious for interesting tournament rosters, who's playing?
LP Elite - Strong, steady but have to get by Premier
Mustangs - Killing Plano Premier - could make some games interesting
Semis:
Bracket A #1 - Sting 03
Wildcard - LP Elite
Bracket B#1 - DT South
Bracket C #1 - FCD Premier
FInal
Sting 03
DT South - winner by 1

Re: Texans Fall Festival Predictions
From looking at the schedules I'd say on paper FCD Prem probably has the toughest draw, having to play LP Elite and Sting Hilton to try to advance. Heck they could play a great tournament and still not advance (unless they win every game which is quite possible). Bracket A looks like a lot of fun because as soon as someone says that Sting G should walk through they seem to stub their toe and as soon as you say it looks like Sting G has dropped off a bit they end up winning 6 in a row. Same thing goes for DTS, everytime some says they have dropped a bit they end up winning a tournmant like this.
Have fun and dress in layers.

Although, from a spectator point of view, with the weather being in the 30s and 40s,
I wouldn't lose too much sleep if the whole thing gets canceled.

Re: Texans Fall Festival Predictions
My prediction is that won't happen. They will do whatever they can to get as much of the tournament in this weekend, and will only cancel at the last minute. If tournament gets cancelled, the out of town teams will use their coaching network connections with the local NTX clubs (Texans, Sting, FCD, etc...) to set up some friendlies. Several club coaches in the area that are high school coaches as well who could probably pull some strings to get a game or two on a turf field on Saturday or Sunday if the grass fields are too wet.herradura wrote:I think with all of the out of town teams coming, it would be crappy NOT to cancel - and it should be done earlier than at the last minute. Especially if it starts raining tomorrow and there is a 90% chance of rain Friday… Of course the call would come down to one person - and that person is known for his crappy decisions

Unless the weathermen are completely off (which is quite possible) this weekend is going to miserable weather for soccer. Cold, wet, and windy is a horrible combination. Should make for some interesting results though.

Re: Texans Fall Festival Predictions
So glad NOT to be involved with this one. Last year (when the weather was just blah and not horrible) this tournament was awful. Glad our money and team decided to go elsewhere.herradura wrote:I think with all of the out of town teams coming, it would be crappy NOT to cancel - and it should be done earlier than at the last minute.
