    1st (and 2nd) week's scores

Post  Lawnboy on Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:00 pm

First games were played tonight. Here's a shout-out to the Solar 98 girls who played a very stout game. Not sure what Woody did over the break, but they looked good.

    D'Feeters : 1
    Solar : 0

How and when did the goal get scored? Good job on slugging it out.

Very late in the game on a corner kick.

I'm not a 98 parent, but I was there watching. Solar did a great job being
the aggressors the whole game. The Feet girls just found a way to get it done.

What is the girls classic league rules on yellow cards? How many yellow cards may the same player receive in league and tournament games before Lake Highlands will take action educating the player and her coach as to player misconduct? I know its third hand or more but I was told the same player who received another card today and in torunamen play in AZ has recieved cards this fall in D1 that her manager did not turn into the league therefore she has fewer cards listed than given .... if just bad info then I apologize but, anyone else heard the same?

Congratulations to FCDB on a well earned victory today. Blue could earn 12 points this week and take over the top spot in D1!!!

    Barney, just an FYI...

It's not just the responsibility of the player's team manager to turn in the yellow/red card report, but also the responsibility of the opposing team's manager. So the only way the league would not have record of her card total would be if both team's managers failed to turn in the report. So I'd be fairly confident that the league is aware. Either that or there are a lot (based on your third hand info) of opposing team's managers who didn't want to bother with it.

Also, that third hand is usually the worst hand to be spouting off opinions from.

TT, it was nice to see you again out there in the cold morning.

Both teams DT v SR played great. I think it came down to who wanted it more.

On Feet v Sting West, was a bit surprised on how close it was all through to the last whistle. For a moment I thought Sting West would have pulled an upset, but Feet had enough to pull an equalizer with a minute to go. That was a thriller.
Now, don't ask me if SW have improved that much or Feet are yet to find their touch. But the luck of the Green is still on.....two games in a row

I can not speak for all the situations. I am the manager for the FCDY98G Blue and I know the manager for the FCDY98G. I know we worked together in this case to ensure all paper work was sent to the proper channels. I also know that she is an awesome manager and would not forget to submit the proper paperwork. I am sure the league is aware of # of cards.

I would agree that it would not be a manager mistake. I know that there was some "confusion" about the number of cards in the first half of the season but we were told it "was resolved".
As to physical play, it definately advantages the early developers. Of course, some of those develop also the dreaded hips and become much slower and lose their agility. And the size and speed advantage will go away. Right now there are upwards of 70lb size differentials in the girls. There will always be some girls who are bigger and faster. However they are not always the same ones who were bigger and faster at U12. Which of course brings the U15 questions of "what ever happened to so and so", to which people answer "have you SEEN her lately?"

D2: Liverpool 4, TFC 3; but don't worry, the new coach (Mr. Ed) told us and the girls that results DO NOT matter, so everything is OK.
Without AW, the "TFC slide" has begun...
