Legacy Freedom Cup teams? Empty Legacy Freedom Cup teams?

Post by jamestren on 06/01/14, 01:58 pm

Just curious if anyone is participating in this event? Does anyone have an early applied team list? I think a couple TULSA TSC club teams are considering it, but I was curious what the turnout will be.

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing.  Looks like a lot of teams on the list.  Anyone want to guess which teams will be placed in the gold bracket?  I think we've played a couple of these teams, but I don't recognize many of them.

Wow....  LP didn't do themselves a ton of favors with their seeding and backeting.  I love playing the better teams early in tournaments when everyone is fresh, but surprising they place two of their teams in this division (Rush and Keagan) with us.  I'm good with it, but it's all a little odd.  Must have been a LP Barnes parent doing the brackets.  Smile             Ready to escape the freaking cold.  Hope your weather down there gives us a break!

BRACKET A:
DALLAS RUSH 03G NERO (FORMERLY 03G SOLAR BLUE) (TXN)
LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03 GIRLS KEEGAN (TXN)
LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03 GIRLS RUSH (TXN)
 TSC HURRICANE 03 AMOS (OK)

BRACKET B:
DALLAS COSMOS COSMOS 03G BLACK (TXN)
LIVERPOOL FC AMERICA 03 GIRLS BARNES (TXN)
 ODYSSEY 03G (TXN)
TUSC BLITZ UNITED 03 GIRLS (OK)

Final
Bracket A vs. Bracket B

Should be better weather than last week so that's a good thing. Not sure I would have put Rush and TSC in the same bracket but there's probably not much of a difference between the top couple of teams and the bottom couple of teams in the Gold division. Rush played last weekend with mixed results but it's still four games under their belts so the rust should be a little less than with the other teams. All of the teams are capable of putting together a string of good games to win. Should be quite a few good close games.

I'll pick Cosmos vs TSC in the finals just to be different and TSC with the win. Honestly though I could any of the teams winning this thing, the only one I don't know much about is the TUSC Blitz team.

For the one who asked, TSC beat blitz 5-0 both matches in the Fall. Maybe not a great barometer, but I wouldn't expect them to give your better teams too many issues.

That's a lot of money to come beat a couple Liverpool teams and not take home a medal. Always good to come down and play good competition though. Hopefully we did enough to not get the 8 seed if we come back down next year Smile

Wow. What a scary trip home. Quick feedback on the two games we played. LP Rush and Keagan are definitely a step behind Sting Hilton, LP Elite, and FCD gold who we played at Plano. Rush has a steady defense, but doesn't build well from the back, so they seem to be lacking offensive punch. We missed way too many chances in the game, but credit Rush D for keeping us from getting very many clean looks. We felt like we definitely should have had more than 1 goal, but anytime we beat any team down there, we know it's tough. Keagan was the opposite. A couple of nice forwards and decent midfield, but definitely not the defensive horses. We got around the corner quite a bit. We missed a ton of shots and chances this game, but still managed a 3-0 win. They squeezed by our defense a couple of times early for shots, and had a couple of good looks on free kicks.

It was great to play some good games. Bummed we couldn't have got in the finals against Barnes today.

We'd really love to see a nice group come up for the TSC Lexus Cup this spring. DT South? FCD gold? FCD Premiere? LP elite? SRSA? Sting Hilton/Gutierrez? Anyone on this forum convinces their coach to come up and the first round of beers is on me. Bring your best, we'll try to defend our home turf- and hopefully we see a ton of great soccer!

Slow your roll, you barely got past rush and played a good game against keegan you are not ready for the top 5...

Um. We beat Hilton last Fall, and generally play tight games with the top teams. We beat LP Elite and Guiteriez last spring as well. In Plano, most of the goals we allowed were on set plays (free kicks). I'm not saying we'll beat ANY or all of the top 5. I'm saying that's who we want to play. Dallas is lucky because you get those games every week. We have to travel to play them, so when we do, we want to play the best.

By the way- we barely got past Rush because we played poorly at times and didn't finish when we should have in the first half. Anyone who watched those two games should know that. Again, not calling out anyone. I'm saying we love to play your top teams. Win, lose, or draw......

TSC puts on a good tournament in the Spring, and we would love to see Dallas represent. If I've offended you and you want to come prove we can't hang, let's go. If you've already beat us down before, we would love a chance to try again. And if we've never played you before, the worst case scenario is you travel a few hours and play a few games against some good teams. And most importantly, there's a free beer waitin for you. No one loses. Smile

No you have a good team just not a top 5 team Imo... I saw you play keegan but not rush but my friend did and said rush didn't finish their chances either. I just hear people always proclaiming how they are top 5 material...

Only one way to get there. Play them. Now, next season, as many times as possible. It's about where we want to go, not where we are. We are improving each season, and I know we've closed that gap a bit. Trust me, FCD gold handled us in Plano (the only team we played that was clearly better than us at the time that weekend)...... Don't mistake my persuasion as cockiness. We know who these teams are and what they can do. That's WHY we want to play them. We have nothing to prove, just want to get better!

I know the RASE team will try to avoid the TSC lexus cup. Last time we played it the TD had a little home cooking and put all of the texas teams in the same bracket so we would knock each other out. Too far to go just to play teams from home. Coach seems to like TSC for some reason but parents aren't sold

Go99 ->. I just looked and saw the 03 and 04 teams bracketed together. That's definitely a bummer. But... You were with our clubs B team and another area team that is awful. Our girls got bracketed with a decent sting Mendoza team. Everyone has a little home cooking, but the bracket wasn't stacked against or for anyone. And them we played you in the semis. So you played 3 OK teams and 1 dallas team. That isn't exactly like you "knocking each other out".... And. Your 04 team in that bracket lost to our 03 B team, who advanced to semis. Meaning the way the bracket worked, your 03 and 04 team could have advanced?

<----- By the way, OK teams ALWAYS get the business end of dallas brackets. It doesn't keep us away though. It drives us to step up and do our best.
