Just curious if any of you had kids play rec soccer for GLASA. If so, did you actually play any games, or did you just mail in your registration fees and instead of playing games, they just gave everyone a trophy and a gift certificate for juice boxes and fruit snacks?

Interesting
The fields were in good condition on Sat when the games were played. There have been no heavy rains since then and the little sun we got since Monday, means the fields should be in even better conditions than they were on Sat.
So why the heck would they close the fields for today's games?

It rained heavy Sunday morning. All GLASA fields were closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but should be dry enough for tomorrow night's game, if we continue to have sunny conditions this afternoon and tomorrow.

Dom, I appreciate your comments, but there is one glaring problem with it...THERE ARE NO GAMES SCHEDULED FOR RAILROAD TOMMORROW NIGHT. Not in any of the LHGCL age groups. So, the fact that they will be playable tommorrow night and not tonight accomplished absolutely zero, and when you factor in that if we get another 1/4 inch of rain on Friday, then the weekend is shot as well.
It would appear that, at this point, we should all assume that until we get a solid week without any measurable precipitation, all GLASA fields will be closed. I guess the positive is that at least we're no longer talking about tournaments on GLASA fields that are actually costing us money when the fields get closed.

Technically, it is the City of Lewisville, The Town of Flower Mound and Highland Village that makes the call to close the fields that GLASA uses.
