It's unfortunate that we get so personal when someone else recognizes the true talent of another. Elk's DD has been blessed to be able to play for a quality coach who developes and teaches the game the right way. Please forgive him for recognizing the ability of FCW's coach who also appears to be doing it the right way. If you really look at all of the coaches in LH, ask yourself who is really developing these 12-13 yr old kids. I believe only a handful or two at best are teaching good fundamental soccer and they are easily recognizable. The rest, well, from what I see week in and week out, are a whole lot of kids just running around chasing a ball whose days are numbered. That being said, I guess we all choose our poison and pay for it dearly.

Thanks for repeating the point I was making. But what makes you the expert to determine your coach is the right one and our coach is just making the players chase the ball.
It is not personal at all, but when a group of people (including you, now) comes out strongly for a coach whose team got into most competitive league due to a club bye and loses to almost every team, you gotta question their motives. They won a game just like everyone else once in a while. Congratulate the girls and leave it at that. You don't advertise the coach, unless you have something to gain.
I haven't seen elk come out to congratulate Sting West (I think his dd plays for Sting too) after they beat the 'hot' DTWN this weekend and praise their coach.
BTW, I looked up FCW's coach on their website. Please let us on what prior success bk was talking about him so I might go check him out in June. See advertising works

I don't have a DD that plays for a 97 team but felt compelled to write something. It's easy as a parent to come on here and bash another poster for their opinion. Last time I checked it was an opinion, someone's belief in something. You don't have to like it or agree with it. But to come here and bash another poster or coach is uncalled for. What you should be doing is asking the girls on his team if they feel they are devolping. It doesn't matter what you or I think. If the kids on his team enjoy playing for him and feel like they are getting better, as a parent what else could you ask for. I come to this coaches defense because I've seen first hand the changes he has made for my daughter. She is only a 99 who came to him with good skills but wanted to get better. If you were to ask my daughter today what she thinks of this coach, she'd tell you without hesitation what a great influence he has been to her. Her confidence and skill levels have gone through the roof in a matter of 3 months. He filled in coaching our team this weekend, and what a difference it made in these girls. And for the record, yes I've seen him practice with his girls because my little 99DD has practiced with this 97 team. Give the man a break. He didn't ask to be put in D1 but as other posters have noted, it will do wonders in the devolpment of these girls. And for the record, if he ever coached a 99 team, my DD would be the first in line.

OK! ok! You guys got me now. How can I dispute words of a 99 parent.
The real question to settle now is: Is he better than DM?

Oh thats right, I forgot that 97 parents are so much better than us poor 99 parents. Get a life, nobody compared him to DM. Foolish on your part.

David May is the brother of Scott May, who played for Bobby Knight at Indiana back in the late 70"s.

That is funny.....Believe me what one sees as good coaching varies by kid and parent..
Texans, Royal and Feet all have a new coach and I believe that all of these coaches are teaching something different. I saw this between Feet and Royal this past week, the game was about soccer and not about how much blood shed and parents crying at the ref. As the girls age, coaching improves and so does the soccer..

Yup, would agree LS! We refs love the U11 - U14 parents, every call non/call is met with horror, unbelief and screams of agony. After a few years, parents come to figure out the best approach is to sit back, enjoy the game and let your kid shoulder the outcome. And inside info for you folks... (your dd HATES when you scream at the ref - it really does embarass them but most don't dare interrupt your intensity in trying to shape the outcome of the game, just respond with the eye roll...oh yeah, it doesn't impact the result either)
