What makes you think that in 3 years, some of the best players from other teams won't move over to SRSA and play on that ECNL team? And some of them may move over to your team? If you look across the ECNL landscape, it isn't as if club loyalty has held 100% across the board...the core group, yes, but the roster of 20 may include kids from multiple clubs...if SRSA is still the best at that age, they will get some looks from top players from outside their current roster...even some players who currently aren't on another top 5 or even top 10 roster (gasp)...

We can "what if" all day… the point is - with the current 03 landscape, and Pre-ECNL activities beginning at U-12, Solar and Defeeters are depth disadvantaged…

That is an extremely good point in most age groups. Not sure in this one. But who knows.

What if those two players return to SRSA 03 that are playing up sometime in the future? This group is cruising without them, so imagine the disparity if they would have stayed?

Then you add other top girls from other teams interested in playing the SRSA system...

I haven't seen a gap this wide in any age group ever. Not saying there hasn't been, but I haven't seen it, and I've seen a lot of soccer.

One of you guys will beat them sooner or later though. It happens.

Congratulations to Sting Hilton for a very competitive game. They could've folded after falling behind 2-0, but they kept on playing hard. That is why we play the game. Our girls look forward to the rest of the season. Adversity makes you stronger and with this being the development part of the journey they look forward to other close games to see how they respond. Again Congratulations to Sting Hilton!

This is true in the 03 standings right now, but look at where the 00s were last year and the transition into ECNL this year at U14. Feet picked up a Solar team to have an ECNL group. Solar had ONE dominant team after their second team went to Feet, and the top D2 team (until the ONLY LH LP team in 00s went to Solar at the last minute...). Texans had 1 D1 team...their D2 team disbanded. Sting had 4 D1 teams and 2 more D2 teams...Standings says that Solar, Texans and Feet all sit above Sting, so their strong position before it unfolded was not the advantage it could have been.

It isn't the same as the situation from the 03s, and it is a "what if" but some of the 03s will change teams and clubs...I am not saying it will or won't happen, but worrying about it too much now seems pretty futile...of course, I don't normally comment on the 03s, and it did draw me into the discussion, so maybe it is productive after all...lol.

Ya'll just enjoy it. You have so many years ahead of you. It's a fun journey with your daughters no matter what division or league you play in. The wins and losses all wash away.

Amen to both! Have fun with it...One reason to always respect your opponent is you never know when those people will be driving your kid to practice etc. It is fun. Enjoy the ride!

Week 13 D1LHGCL Predictions - Page 3 Empty Re: Week 13 D1LHGCL Predictions

Well I didn't see any of the games this weekend but I do agree that sometimes it's hard to tell how the game really goes just by looking at the score. Yes the score is the most important indicator of who wins or loses Smile but it doesn't always tell the story. I can't begin to tell you how many games I watched over the past 10 years where one team has controlled everything and the other team has looked lost, but some ball bounces out of trouble and the team that has been lost all day sends it long and gets a breakaway goal. Now the crowd goes wild with the goal and the win and the parents rejoice. Now they start thinking they are actually the better team because they won and then they look up 6 months down the road and they haven't won a game since and the other team has kept playing good soccer and has now blown them away in the standings and in every tournament. Then they get pissed off because they still think they are better than the team they beat and really have no clue that their DD's never really learned how to play soccer. Everytime you speak to them they will tell you "but we beat Team X, so I know we are a good team." That team probably gets knocked down or our of LH's and implodes. It's the way soccer goes in NTX.

The difference between SRSA and everyone else right now is they don't panic when they get the ball and are under pressure. There are about a handful of teams trying hard to play a more possesion style of soccer but when they face another top team and are now under pressure they all have a tendancy to struggle. Not the case with SRSA from what I've seen. They very easily could lose but most teams still have a ways to go to catch up with their consistency. Fun team to watch and good for the age group to have someone to go after. Should make for some good soccer down the road.

Not much value in depth of teams, IMO.

Look at Solar/Liverpool and, to a lesser degree, Sting in the U14 age group. Solar/LP combined the top two teams from U13 (by a very wide margin, I might add) and currently sit fourth. Sting combined their top 4 teams and currently sit 7th.
