Good Summer Camps? Empty Good Summer Camps?

Post by Guest 25/02/14, 08:34 am

Looking for some feedback on some good summer camp options locally. My DD is an '04 and has done some HS camps in the past, looking for some good options with better coach to player ratios as we look forward to Select.

Good Summer Camps? Empty Re: Good Summer Camps?

i've been given positive and negative feedback from all camps.. Texas A&M, UT, SMU and TCU. I do think that the camp environment is a fun bonding time for girls, more than an excellent soccer experience. That being said, your kid will get out of it what they are looking for...Last year we did the UNT soccer camp and my DD loved it...i would say the soccer experience is decent...but after i took time to evaluate the entire process, the kids are up early and they stay up late..they are on fumes most of the week...but they have fun and that was good to hear when she got home. So i would say for a good bang for your buck, the UNT soccer camp will be more than enough and i believe its a little less expensive.
Now i have heard of a more intense camp with One Soccer School camps. They come to DFW 1x during the summer. Their camp is a full 8 hr day and they will work your butt out and then your kid goes home and does it again. To me, its more intense and more good soccer being taught at this camp....So what are you looking for? One soccer school also has a 4 hr camp, that is good, but less intensive...if your kid wants more than 4 hrs, the 8 hr camp is what i recommend.

My 02 and 04 both did the No. 1 Soccer Camp last summer. Definitely intense and both agreed it was the best soccer camp experience as far as learning environment. They've each been to several other residential and day camps, and I agree with their assessment from the sessions my husband and I watched.
