PPL / Gotsoccer

Post by Guest on Fri Mar 28, 2014 10:44 am

Does anyone know why the PPL doesn't utilize Gotsoccer to post scores / records, etc. for teams participating there? None of the team records for the PPL season are reflected there (both LHGCL and APL are). I know that tourney directors use the site for seeding, etc. Seems like it could put teams at a disadvantage in that regard as a good chunk of their yearly schedule is not reflected there.

Just curious.

PPL has been loyal to its old school software and gotsoccer cost $$$.
You're right, the teams in PPL are at a real disadvantage in regard to gotsoccer rankings. LHGCL and APL teams not only are awarded points for EACH win or tie...there's bonus points for where they finish (1st,2nd,3rd,4th) during the fall and again in the spring....and significant bonus points for winning games over higher ranked teams.
It's been reported that some TDs rely heavily on gotsoccer rankings for seeding. Therein lies the major problem.
I'm told that PPL will get with the program...maybe next year.

That's definitely unfortunate for the teams involved. They should have access to the same advantages any other teams have. The PYSA site is incredibly antiquated. Hopefully they will make the change soon so everyone is on the same page. From what I've seen, they are the only ones not using it.

And cost is not a true barrier...because they can simple pass the added cost onto the Clubs/Teams...
