BOL to all this weekend.
Not thinking promotion. I just threw out top 2. Could be top 3.
I believe that goals are very precious and that there are many solid teams that simply can't score enough. Sting Sanchez has a goal scorer and that will set them apart from the other D3 teams. Though, it would be interesting to see teams this week try to shut down the striker and say, "If we lose to you then someone else will have to score."
And back to promotion - only one team goes up from D3 to D2. From LHGCL:
U12 DI = 10 Teams
1st thru 8th place earn a BYE and remain in DI
9th and 10th place earn a BYE and move to DII
U12 DII = 10 Teams
1st place earns a BYE and will move to DI
2nd thru 8th place earn a BYE and remain in DII
9th and 10th place earn a BYE and move to DIII
U12 DIII = 10 Teams
1st place earns a BYE and will move to DII
2nd thru 5th place earn a BYE and remain in DIII
6th thru 10th place do not receive a BYE and must re-qualify There will be 4 open spots for DIII in QT

That math does not work. 6-10 would be 5 spots not 4

Re: LHGCL Weekend 2
10 teams total
1st place moves up
2nd through 5th stay in DIII = 4 teams.
2 teams get relegated from DII to DIII = 2 teams.
4 + 2 = 6
4 open spots available
6 + 4 = 10

jsullivan81 wrote:It will be a tough weekend. I hope Sparta and Sanchez make it. Both teams look pretty deserving. If Sanchez picked up those D1 players that has been guesting with them a lot, they should do pretty well in D3, and may be the favorites to win. When we played against them in a tourney a bit back, those players were pretty key to their game plan. Hopefully they weren't just borrowing them on a regular basis. I know Sanchez had a good shot during QT last year before being DQ'ed, but was not sure about Sparta? Did they pick up players recently? They looked pretty good when I last saw them.
Sparta hit dry spell in QT last year. Based on their record they played strong in tournaments through the year. Strong competative independent team from the south.

No.
Teams 6-10 will not have a bye. They must requalify. However, only 4 spots are available.
5 teams have a Bye into DIII.
Last place from DII and the 2nd through 5th place finishers of DIII.
1st place in DIII moves up to DII.
Make sense?

Re: LHGCL Weekend 2
2 from DII
And 2nd thru 5th....that's 6 teams
This age group is different than most.
Most of the time 6th place in DIII keeps you in the league...not at U12. That's because U13 DI drops to 9 teams instead of 10
So overall U13 will have 29 teams instead of 30

Question: Can you have Dl players guest in Plano? They won Plano.

You are correct. I should check my math more often. Especially when I am commenting how others are wrong.

BahamaMamma wrote:It amazes me how many ppl get on here and have no clue what they are talking about.. Unless you know anything about teams you are talking about....just enjoy reading. From what i know about Sanchez they won Plano on their own. they have since added some great talent and will make DIII. Good luck to all the girls the weekend.
That is my understanding as well. They only started using D1 players in tournaments after their league play was finished. I know when we played them in a tournament recently, they had guests. But per Bahama's earlier posts, those guests may now be on the team? I guess time will tell.
