Ah ok I guess that's not as bad :-/ It's tough being a coach, it takes a lot of heart and commitment and for men to get on here just to bash other teams or coaching styles seems cowardly. I guess everyone is different though.

You're right, I should get back to work. Have fees to pay, I'm sure you know about that.... Or maybe not. :-)

Fees are good as long as it not your DD on the bench with the revolving door of top players getting extra touches or your DD's touches.

Hey monisoccer03, I'm curious what happened to the 07 team that is causing players to leave. I mean they were one excellent team that was really starting to click. They were giving 06 teams a real hard time like the 08s are doing now in the 07 division. I really enjoyed seeing them in tournaments.

Sting free? No way i guess I needed to beg more. Good coaches, great facilities, good quality, but not free.

Is this your first trip through academy? Players come and go all the time, for a variety of reasons. Sadly most of the time it is the parents egos that get in the way. Some leave because they can't deal with the fact they their DD isn't the superstar and played in a certain positon. Some leave because no matter how much you try and help them they can't pay their soccer dues, some parents can get talked into a bad situition by another disgruntled parent, some parents do not like their DD playing against boys, and some leave because they don't even like soccer and the only reason they are there is because their parents are too self centered to realize it. I have seen all of these play out through the three trips that I have taken through academy soccer and I am sure I will see many more as I began to embark on the fourth journey. I hope this helps you and you were not just being facetious. Good luck with the rest of your academy journey. Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions or just need some advice.
p.s. Stop making this weird and showing up to watch my 8 year old play soccer at random tournaments. I will get a restraining order.

NTXSoccaDad wrote:I think the same team playing in different leagues is great if being done correctly and I applaud the efforts by the coaches willing to put in the extra work to give players different opportunities.  The trend I have noticed is the teams have a Gold and silver level teams may mix up player positions for the extra games.  For example a player that plays on a gold team as a defender may play on a silver team as a center mid or forward.  Even though using the same players it allows coaches to move players around and play at a level consistent with the players experience for that position.   Of course, if the game gets tight a coach may decide to play everyone where they are best to make sure they still win.  Does this seem in line with what you have noticed on teams in multiple divisions?

LOL! Ever consider stand-up, Ray?

I may be relatively new to the forum but this isn't my first foray through the academy or competitive ranks. I have been involved in ntx soccer for over 15 years. Whether it be coaching, training or running leagues. I was simply making an observation since this "trip" through has been very different than others. I enjoy watching teams compete against each other to better help pick up on anything that could possibly help me develop the teams i coach. I look forward to seeing my teams compete against some of the more seasoned teams in this age group.

That's awesome. Well with that many years in soccer you of all people should know that there are several factors that play when a family makes a commitment, such as practice location, leagues, fees, work schedule, etc. This core has been together since the team formed and they are still very much an excellent bunch (probably why they get so much attention ;-) ) and no worries, they still have plenty of fans.

SoccerGuru- will your team be playing at CFBAL/UAL in the spring? It would be a great opportunity for your team to play some great competition!
