Lubbock Cruz Azul Red/Yellow tracker

Post by MaskedWriter on 20/08/15, 09:17 pm

The House has the Over/Under on # of cards issued to CA this fall set at 4-1/2. Not sure if this is a sucker bet or not given their reputation and history. Thoughts?

I'll bite here but with a twist.  Masked I'm assuming you are located in the Metroplex (as am I). Now think of how hard it is to get the family up at 6am Saturday mornings get them clothed, fed and out of the house to UTD by 7am for those 8am morning games.   Most weekends these folks from Lubbock have to start that journey on Friday night. Their dedication and commitment to their kids FUTY is amazing.  I believe this "SOCCER" as you Yanks say Very Happy  may be catching on!

CHEERS to you AZUL, Congrats on getting in.  NOW.......your kids reputation on the pitch preceeds them.... AS POINTED OUT IN THE TITLE OF THIS TOPIC.
I'm sure some of you will read my post, tell your DD, play hard, be physical but play fair.  Losing a match due to disciplinary cards would make that return 5-6 hour drive to Lubbock much longer. With that said I'll take the under #2 Yellows, #1 Red...and this one will be baited, unfortunatley lots of the local girls also know your team's history a may prevoke.  Keep your heads let your feet talk....Good Luck

Masked Writer sounds strangely similar to Masked Rider, which is the mascot from the western most school of the Big 12....or 10...whatever.

Glancing at the title I thought you were referring one of the parents of Cruz Azul had a red/yellow Geo Tracker, and it had gotten keyed again.

I've seen many games in the metro area and I dont see any difference in there play then whats out there every weekend.
There a super aggressive team and that really gets on the nerves of those who believe they don't belong here. It's really refreshing to see outsiders come in and make noise and stir the pot. Keep your heads up cruz.

I'll bite. As a parent of another out of town team that has played nearly every top team in Texas over the years, I think the reputation is earned on the pitch. There has been far more than "tough play" from what I've seen. Even beyond the parent drama, they have a few girls who have taken some crazy cheap shots at players out of frustration. We've come home battle bruised after playing other NTX teams. Most of those were from tough aggressive plays. The flavor of hits we took in our two previous games against Cruz Azul is over the top and comes only from a "win at all cost and if you can't, hurt someone" mentality.

Whatever you set the line at, put me in for $100 on the over.

When it's your DD being carted off, you'll get it.

It's one thing to play hard and than do dirty plays! Refs have a new system so more cards will be given out this coming year

Sorry not a new system. So the old way was every time a yellow or red card was given the refs had to fill out a form for every card. Now all they do is mark it on the scoring card making it easier and less trouble for them. I believe they started this in the spring and lake highlands noticed an increase in cards given.

Just curious, are there any penalties for red and yellow cards in LH (red = sit a game, 2 yellows = sit a game) or do you get to start with a clean slate each week?

Overall it seems there are more cards this season. Last year I knew of a handful. It seems that we have already had more and we are just not getting to week three. I anticipate this team will have a few more reds throughout the year.
