Huh?
a·nom·a·ly
əˈnäməlē/
noun
1.
something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
"there are a number of anomalies in the present system"
synonyms: oddity, peculiarity, abnormality, irregularity, inconsistency, incongruity, aberration, quirk, rarity
"Cosmos tying FCD is an anomaly"
"Cosmos great season last year was an anomaly"
"Cosmos chances of repeating said efforts would be another anomaly"
"Kickball in a real soccer game is an anomaly"
"Overbearing coaches that yell at 12/13 year old girls is an anomaly in select soccer" affraid

Elite had to score late to save a draw.  Not an anomaly.
3 Cosmos moved to SRSA03 over the summer.  Last season was not an anomaly.
Cosmos chances of repeating without said players, not an anomaly, it's nearly an impossibility.  If somehow they did pull it off, it's still not an anomaly.  Anomalies don't occur consecutively.
Kickball is not an anomaly, it's common.  Possession soccer is rare.
Coaches yelling at players an anomaly?  Hardly.
A team moving down a rankings list after earning a draw against a more highly ranked team, not an anomaly.  Just flawed analysis.
Insulting posts on this forum...
cheers
TRUST ME IT WAS AN ANOMALY
If you saw the game you would know it was a complete lesson in what can happen in any soccer match when you play around. Elite completely DOMINATED the game. Had a freak handball PK and corner kick that Cosmos scored on. These were literally the only 2 times we saw Cosmos cross midfield. Elite missed many shots and finally equalized it. Congrats to Cosmos for taking advantage of minimal opportunities. This is what makes soccer so great!

Love the FW pick.  Where are all the haters ??
Darth Vader ?  Outside looking in ?  And all the apes,  monkeys ,  and matrix chicks ?

Not the Texans!!! Also, who has FW beaten in league play? They were outplayed by DTS and were lucky to get a tie. Now, as soon as GA figures his team out I believe DTS will be in the top 5. 2 games vs 2 so called top teams and the results were ties. Outplayed both FW and Hilton. Saw the FW game live and the video of the Hilton game. Hilton coach said his team was lucky vs DTS.

I think that the FW rise/love in folks "personal" rankings (key word "personal"=opinion for those that need to make that connection) is more of a combination of Plano and League play. I saw them recently and was impressed with their ability to move the ball. On another note, I probably should know better than to ever count GA out. Winning should start soon. Not sure about top 5 finish. Can't wait to see them play with the new additions.

1. Solar- Still the GOLD standard.
2. FCD Premier (up 3 spots)
3. FCD Elite (no movement)
4. Sting Hilton (up 2 spots)
5. Sting G (down 3 spots and WT???? someone give us some updates)
6. FW Black (up two spots)
7. FCD Red (things will settle soon but great showing so far... up 4 spots)
8. DT South (down two spots... I guess GA is still figuring out the line up)
9. Sting F (up three spots)
10. DT Scott (down 5 spots...)
11. Andro just edge out Cosmos (up two spots)
12. Cosmos (down two spots)
13. Spirit (down 4 and have not been impressed with what I have seen)
14. Feet
15. Mutiny (should stay at the bottom)

Now to the predictions:
Spirit (0) vs DTS (2) Welcome to the winning side
Hilton (1) vs FWFC (1) Match of the week
Feet (0) vs FCD Premier (2) Not even close
FCD Elite (1) vs FCD Red (0) Interesting match up; Should determine if Red is 4-real
DT (0) vs Solar (4) Solar continues their offensive dominance with the real top fwd
Sting G (1) vs Andro (0) If Sting does not win this game, then you guys need a coaching change. Too much talent to not be in the win column already.
Sting F (1) vs Cosmos (0) Tough match up but SF should pull it out

I did not see this game, but I can tell you that RS is not a guy who parks the bus. If RS plays the right lineup, then I still think they are a top 6 team. If not they'll still find a way to stay D1.

well u haven't watched a lot of his games against the top teams then. his mo is to park the bus which is why that comment came up. he plays for the tie and has around 8 parked inside 18. not sure how his team plays against bottom tier.

str8facts, you didn't watch this game obviously or have not seen this team play this season. Who ever had the wind had the ball on their side of the field. Both teams had shots on goal, both teams shots were mostly off target. Solar put one off the post near the end of the game. There was no bus parking, nor was it by any means a pretty game.

If I were to give the Texans credit for something, it would be for their aggression. They were generally first to the ball and seemed to want it more. Which as a parent, was good to see from this group of girls.

My commentary.

Texans played the game in the first half.  They really dominated in the first half.  They had the wind and the control.  Didn't get many shots off though, a corner and maybe a couple free kicks.  Second half Solar had the wind, and we controlled the game. Texans had most of the team back defensively. We had lots of shots that either went straight to the keeper, over the top, off the post or deflected out of bounds.

First half went to Texans because they did actually win more balls.  Couldn't really get through our defense to get scoring chances though and we couldn't capitalize on our opportunities.

Second half was all Solar and still just could not find the back of the net.

I give them credit, they were hungry and played a pretty aggressive first half.  Our girls, not so much. Plus they have a pretty awesome goal keeper, she may be small but she goes after it.

She's a very smart kid. Knows when to come off her line, knows the angles and how to direct back line. If you're gonna beat her you gotta go high, at least until she hit's her growth spurt, then watch out!

I AGREE RWD! I told my DD to shoot high because of her height and I know she'll come out and take it off her foot. Part of the reason we couldn't score. We were aiming too high and anything on the ground, she's all over.

#7 is ok. She took a very bad shot to the face. I'd actually just spoke with her parents before I saw your post and she is fine. Trainer suggested yesterday for her not to return that game after she was a little confused but she got better as the game went on and was begging to get back in. Parents say she had no complaints or issues last night, no signs of anything being wrong.

That's always scary to see and we have one that just returned from a concussion (face shot) and one out with one now and possibly another who may have one and sadly from Volleyball and NOT soccer. 7th grade volleyball has been rough on our team. Sad

I don't know what kind of beef Barca has with the Cosmos, but he hates on them constantly.  It doesn't matter who the Cosmos beat this year, Barca will say the same old crap he always says.  It's kind of sad, really.

Barca picked the winner in only 2 games last week - he's hardly an authority on 03 Classic D1 soccer (his predictions last season proved that in spades). Bottom line - don't give him more credit than what he's due.

I don't think Barca has a beef with Cosmos other than he likely can decipher what teams know how to play and what teams are just running around aimlessly.  The reality is that the Cosmos epitomize all that is wrong with youth soccer.  They play kick ball with no real attempt to play the game the right way.  I give them credit for working hard but probably more in fear of being screamed at than anything else.  Last year, they had success due to one superstar player and 3-4 really good athletes.  The development of the players seems to be secondary to winning the games.  It is a shame for the DDs that stuck around.

Well, str8facts, once apon a time my dd played for RS. We NEVER packed the box. We may have had issues getting our forwards and midfielders in sync in the attacking third, but never did we "park-the-bus". Just getting the facts straight :-)

So what you are saying is, your DD plays defense and due to her playing ability there was never a need to park the bus. The only losses were due to the kids not playing defense since those other kids could not get forward or get in sync?

I realize that's not what you're saying, but its how some may interpret it.

Agreed! If you watch enough of their games, you will note that RS is a defensive minded coach. There is nothing wrong with that philosophy if it works. Parking the bus is also more probable with this mindset. According to your (RWD) previous posts, you mentioned that the team was now loaded with forwards. So what gives in your reports? I'm confused...scratch Is it possible that the talent is already there and it is just how the talent is being used that may come into question? Whatever the case, kudos for shutting down the best team in our division. Not many teams can make that claim.
