DI week 8 and 9

Post by Soccer Junkie on Tue Oct 20, 2015 11:36 am

First let me say I can't believe we are about to be done with the first half of the season and then get to take about 4 months off till we start back up, that sucks, but second half of the season will have much better games IMO.....

at least week 9 we get a couple of the big boys going against each other

Week 8
Mutiny vs Solar
Feet vs Sting G

Week 9

Sting Hilton vs Sting G
DTS vs FCD Premire
FCD Elite vs Solar
Feet vs FCD Red
Spirit vs Andromeda
FWFC vs Sting F
Mutiny vs Texans

Enjoy the winter break......................

Week 8
Mutiny (0) vs Solar (10) The implosion at Mutiny continues
Feet (0) vs Sting G (3) S-G will not miss the net

Week 9
Sting Hilton (1) vs Sting G (2) S-H usually plays S-G tough
DTS (2) vs FCD Premier (3) would love to see this one
FCD Elite (1) vs Solar (2) tight game Solar takes it
Feet (0) vs FCD Red (0) so much for Red winning it all
Spirit (0) vs Andromeda (4) There will be no Spirits to see in this Halloween house of horrors
FWFC (4) vs Sting F (0) FW continues dominance
Mutiny (0) vs Texans (1) Mutiny losses but seems to always bring out the monsters against DT. More yellow cards to come...

Well, it's a throw away season for sure. But, my guess is top 6-7 will stay, baring major injury bug. Bottom 3-4 will stay the same. Odyssey and Sparta likely promote, but I cannot recall if 1 or 2 from D2 move up. Go Odyssey (no DD involved).

All the fireworks will begin to smolder as ECNL tryouts get underway, rumors of DA club selection leak out and the whole AP impact. It will erupt when season is over where most will be wondering what coach will be moving up to potentially keep team intact or remain with age group and losing Aug-Dec kids.

All-in-all this season, development and touch matters, results do not!

Before Age Pure and DA became the hot topics, the plan was for D1 1-7 to remain D1. D1 8-13 and D2 1 & 2 would play in an end of season 8 team tourney for the last 2 D1 spots, with the losing teams of said tourney joining D2 3&4 and D1 14&15 to make up the new D2. D2 5-10 become D3 with the rest being filled through QT. I can't imagine that they would stick to this "genius" plan with AP and teams either moving byes up or keeping them in the current age group. I guess we'll get some clarification after April 30 when teams declare their intentions...hopefully.

with the ability to declare intentions, I see a real possibility for mismatched divisions randomly sized and different with each age. D1 with maybe 12 or 13 teams while D2 and D3 then try to sort out how to move teams up to adjust. 03 teams taking their D1 bye into 02's and leaving a hole in 03's.
Do others move up in the case their are less than 10?
I guess the notion- maybe accurately so in the aggregate- is that it will all come out in the wash. 03's that take their bye into 02's will fill the spots of 02's that decide to move into 01's. I doubt that it will come out even, but it might be close... Another year of juggling cats on fire and they will be able to level set again.

As much as I would hate to endure it...because it does wreck the summer, another QT might be the only way to sort things out. Yes, there are always a few teams here and there that squeak in that never belonged but overall it may be the best way.

I know my DD's team will likely be a vastly different team (provided they stay together) come July 1, regardless of D1 or D2 bye.

I agree with RWD, No roster is going to be the same, even the top D1 teams. ECNL and AP is changing everything so why allow totally different teams to keep the byes? In theory a D1 roster could be filled with D2 and D3 players come the fall. But that team could ride the next 3 seasons out in LH without worrying about re qualifying..

IMO this age pure change is going to bring additional challenges that nobody is talking about yet......I am not sure about this but my interpretation of the qualifying would allow teams to play up in the qualifying tourneys for next year and still maintain their BYE.  This makes alot of sense for 1-4 top teams but 8-13 that have to re-qualify??? Can they jump in to the 02 qualifying round??? If this is true can DII do the same?

What if there is 10-15 03 teams that want to stay together and that means they must play up as 02s, then bring into the equation what the 02 division will do, what if these teams all decide to break up (True 01s leave and true 02s stay???  I guarantee the 02 coaches will attempt to pull the true 02's off the 03 rosters especially at the bigger clubs.  Does this mean 02 division could have up to 45 teams trying out for 29 spots???  MADNESS

Don't try and "figure it out"... Focus on your DD, where she is developmentally and act accordingly. That is all that is in your control at this point - or ever for that matter.

Try and play the system and... well, you'll have better luck in Vegas.

Agree with Herradura. Don't even try to figure it out. This is the same crew who brought us the 2 division system we have right now. Frankly, they had several chances to look at the situation and make decisions around what was best for the girls and made just the opposite decisions.
Focus on your DD and her development.

Totally different teams will keep their bye's because the clubs that have them make up the LHGCL stakeholders and they will want to keep them. I have a feeling LHGCL will be happy to go back to a normal number of teams in each division and go from there. Since the teams are staying with their clubs in most cases the 75% rule will not or apply or only if a Bye (Team) is going to go to a different club.

This is better than Netflix and has another few months to run. Unfortunately no DVR. the girls that are AP '02 but were '03 will skip a year but if there is demand for it there will be one added on at the end.

I assume by "added on at the end" you are talking about U19, right? Since this is my first and only rodeo, I don't know...but do that many girls really play LH soccer deep into their senior year risking injury before college?
