LHGCL Playoff Schedules Posted
LHGCL Playoff Schedules Posted
Lake Highlands has posted a playoff schedule that begins on Sunday April 24th. That is the day after the season ends. Interesting to see what happens if any of the rainouts can not be played before then.

Ummm... because some of the decisions on byes will likely hinge upon whether a team gets a D1 or D2 bye...

There are twice as many teams who *could* apply for those byes as they would ideally like to slot in. So what are they going to do - back door political deals to whittle the >10 down to 10? Or take the 12 or 13 that do apply and create unbalanced divisions?
You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, are you?

What if 6 of the D1 qualified 04 teams take their bye up and 6 of the D1 qualified 03 teams remain 03...then you have 12 teams in 03 AP LHGCL next year.

ok. i'll play.....that'll never happen, but let's just say it does.....then it's U11 all over again. Everybody plays everybody. Top 10 keep their spot.

Personally, I think it's going to cause them a ton of headaches, and I would've just done it the way Boys Classic league is, by awarding the byes upward as usual. But that's why I'm on this board and not the LH board...

Re: LHGCL Playoff Schedules Posted
"Teams in U12 – U17 that did not play the same number of total games (including playoffs) as they would have in a “normal” LHGCL playing year and are in good standing with the league will receive a rebate for games not played. Rebate amounts to be determined by the Executive Board at the end of the 2015/2016 playing year."
The U-13's are getting 14 games this season compared to 18 games in a normal year. These playoff games will get several of those teams close to the total amount of games they would have played in a "normal" season and thus reduce these alleged "rebates" LH will have to pay out.

You can find that information on the left side of the Lake Highlands Webpage. It's says "2015/2016 Playing Format Addendum Released". Because my account is under 7 days old I can't actually post the link here for you... but you should find the answer to your question there regarding the playoff tournament.

After all things are said and done, next year we'll have 9 teams in D1 and 10 teams in D2 and D3, respectively. 4 teams are relegated each year from D3 and need to requalify, but this year it'll be 5 because we need to drop an extra one from Lake Highlands since there will only be 29 teams in LH instead of the 30 we're used to.

That would be correct in most years. With the change to CY and teams picking which direction they move their bye 'up or down', I think there will be some unbalanced Divisions. Once everyone turns in their bye designation, they will release the list of teams for each Division in June. Should be interesting.
