SRSA 03 USYSA National Champions

Post by Zidane on 31/07/16, 07:08 pm

This team has gotten tons of press over the years. (good and bad); however, they have endured and landed on the biggest stage. Congrats to them for representing N. Texas 03 soccer. The crowd @ FCD park was electric with 4-5 rows of fans. It was in the 2nd overtime when #11 headed a set piece into top of net, skimming the bar. ( the So Cal goalie was pretty impressive). This made the game 3-1 and minutes later hundreds of N. Texas soccer kids stormed the fields.

(replay video attached). You will be shocked witnessing how direct/kickballish the Blues team was.

Been watching SRSA play off and on since they were 8 years old. They are great kids. Its nice to see hard work pay off. That was the largest and most electric crowd i've been a part of involving girls youth soccer. North texas was well represented.

I to was very surprised by the lack of tactical ability of the so cal team. I swear a couple of their defenders never once to a touch on a ball. It was just run up and boot it down field. I've always heard Cali reputation was for possession and tactical ability. Not the case with so cal blues. They were very athletic and physical.
