Sport Source Showcase and Clinic

Post by SickofStupidity on 02/12/16, 04:04 pm

per the web site -

CURRENT STATUS:
All Games will proceed as scheduled.

Laughing

I'm betting . . . no

anyone there watch tv?  have internet access or radar?

Can anyone explain why this hasn't been cancelled before having hundreds of people drive in from out of town, only to turn around tomorrow to drive home?

Possibly to keep as much of the $975 fee as possible? affraid

Wholly irresponsible.

You must be an accountant or something with too much time on your hands. Your kid probably isn't even playing in tournament.

If only there was some one who would sue the tournament for greedy irresponceable actions. A watchdog to litigate on our behalf.

I'm working on it. I think $100k would be enough to teach them a lesson. I also plan on donating at least 2% of the total to local soccer.

Well yes we did play today BUT the games were shortened. The kids were cheated. We payed for full games. This diabolical act can only be the work of Jevin and David A. They must be brought to justice. Go get them Soapbox. And 2% is very generous because after all it's all about the kids

Short games on chewed up fields, in the rain and cold.

Good way to "showcase" your players.

Fields were awful...played about 30 minutes before they called it. Good way to get hurt.

The area forecast on all channels and weather outlets was showing 90-100% chance of rain since early last week, also consistently with over 1", some up to 3", but generally around 2" in the game areas.

This "inconvenience" was completely foreseeable, and cost many families hundreds of dollars, time, and for many, dangerous driving conditions. I have known of tournaments in other cities called for less, and was happy that I didn't have to drive hundreds of miles when there was a strong likelihood that the travel would be a waste.

Predominantly local tournaments have a little more flexibility, but "showcase" tournaments where the majority of teams are traveling in from other cities should be more responsible in their decisions.

While the "exact" weather conditions could not be known, the TDs have known for days with 100% certainty that there would be at least moderate amounts of rain over continuous periods that would make make it ALMOST CERTAIN that all or most of the games would be cancelled, and also CERTAIN that those games actually played would by in wet, sloppy, and possibly dangerous conditions that would fall FAR short of those for players to "showcase" their abilities.

Can someone please give SoS a Snickers bar...

Seeing Willem Dafoe in that dress keeps giving me nightmares...
