So when they do the secret 9v9 league invites againdo they add teams that in the ranking moved above teams in the league or do they invite the same group? It looks like a couple of teams should be relegated.

You will see that it quite accurate. Secondly, I guess it depends what rec leagues you are familiar with. Many of the teams outside the top 30 have lost in tournaments to top rec teams from mesquite, waco, and many other rural areas that come here looking for better competition. So to pretend that any team in the 50'same is so superior to any recommendations team is crazy.
When teams in the 60's have beaten teams in the 30's and lose by 1 to teams in the 20's, then you have to question how meaningful the rankings are.  New teams, short data window with winter break, teams playing up to get away from stupid rules, whatever.  Disclose the data and the algorithm, then we can debate.

Well if a team in the 60's beats a bunch of teams in the 30's, they won't be in the 60's very long. The algo is a product of strength of schedule and relative performance of teams you have beat or lost to. Beat good teams and you will move up. An algo based ranking is always going to struggle against small sample size. It works quite well but no ranking system is infallible.

Yes it is, academy soccer for this age group is full of teams that should be playing REC, this is going to be the age group you will really start seeing the business aspect of academy soccer...if you are willing to pay, clubs are willing to take you..I would say any team below let say 20th would struggle playing against rec teams

Ok so I pondered on responding to this or not because I feel like 'soccerdadx1' may be just fishing here to get a rise out of someone.  Well obviously it worked.  I can't help myself on this one so here goes...   I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish by saying that "any team below 20th would struggle playing against rec teams" because that is absurd.  We are ranked 54th, for now Smile , and I have all the confidence in the world that playing against a REC team would be a joke.  I guess I am just curious as to why you would purposely go out of your way to offend "teams below 20th" by saying they basically belong in REC leagues.  You obviously either have zero clue about the competition level (yes even in the 50 ranks) or you are just trying to stir the pot.  Either way, I took it offensive and I look forward to our team playing whichever team you are cheering for.

---Aaron Ives...out

My daughter plays on a top 12 team right now, we have played teams below the 50's and the game was over before half time. Have you even seen any of the current top 4 teams play Aaron? I myself would look forward to seeing how you fair against any of those 4 teams.. I will assure you, that game would be over in about 10 minutes of play. Those 4 teams play at a whole different level than anyone I would say ranked 9th or lower... So for your enjoyment, I think I will cheer for Liverpool Toshack...Good Luck

So win you say a top 12 team, I'm assuming they're #12.

I was thinking #11 but too embarrassed to admit it.

Rec teams from rural areas beating top 30 teams from DFW at the U9 level is EXTREMELY rare.

That is why I said yesterday that the topic/comment was absurd to even discuss. Like I said previously we are 54th, according to the FBR, and during the offseason(s) when we play in other leagues they will have REC teams mixed in with the Academy teams... So I see first hand the "top" Rec teams staying together and playing in leagues that they end up having no business playing in. That was the whole premises of my response back to that soccerdad guy.... It seemed like it was out of malice and meant to be hurtful for those who didn't fall in his "Top Tier" category. He was being a jerk and I felt, at the time, that he needed to be told so. Probably should've just laughed it off but sometimes we let our emotions override our intellect.

You would have to ask the team manager (gotsoccer13) whose team folded in the first week of the season. He created that league thinking his team was too good to play in other leagues yet he couldn't keep his team together..
