I see now. Saying last year and this year threw me off.
And no you can't play for two different teams in Cup.

With the knowledge that OFC has with her, I bet they had the money lined up for the protest once she stepped on the field.

If you knowingly and willingly break the rules, you should be prepared for the consequences.

It's very sad that the team had to go out that way, since they had a great shot at making it to the finals back home, but I guess it was worth the risk.

Did this "overall good dude" know that playing his dd was against the rules?

Was this the first time she played in violation of the rules this year?

If trying to assault a youth soccer ref still qualifies you as a "good dude" I'd hate to see a troublemaker.

I doubt playing in anything else would have been a violation.

Post by AF Elite 24/06/17, 03:41 pm

We were disqualified from the regional championships in Greensboro, North Carolina for fielding an ineligible player. The player in question has been on our roster since July 1 2016. She dual rostered with us and NWO in Oklahoma. The player in question played in all competitions with us (LP ELITE 03) except for State cup, including SRPL (USYSA) and this includes games against OFC. We believed that because NWO 02 did not advance to regionals that she was good to go and play with us. What we learned was that the rules change for the 'Champions Series' which includes state cup, regionals and national finals. Once a player plays for a certain team in any champions series competition they are automatically ineligible to compete for another team in the 'champions series' even if dual rostered in a different state. The rules were shown to us after the fact and were very unclear, yet in the eyes of the tournament directors we had violated this rule and were immediately disqualified. We won our first game against OFC 4-0 and were confident of advancing out of the group stages. What happened was unintentional and we completely accept the ruling and will live to fight another day. I accept full responsibility as the coach of this team and that's that. We look forward to competing in the next 12 months to attempt to achieve a better outcome at the next regional championships.

This has absolutely no bearing on NPL national finals (US Club) and the player in question will continue to play for Liverpool 03 Elite.

Post by bird04 24/06/17, 04:01 pm

I rarely post here, but do have a passing familiarity with those involved through ODP and OK soccer before ECNL in the 03 age group. If it's the ex-OFC player I think it is (and the dad sure sounds like he fits the bill..."hothead" "Ok dude"...whatever), then I think this whole thing is a very clever OFC set-up. Here's my theory (actually, I have to give credit to my ex-prosecutor wife):

OFC HATES this dad...he left their top team a few years ago and recruited good players away. Supposedly "banned for life" from OFC..that's the story we hear on the Tulsa side of the state. I guess OFC plays for keeps! Razz
Ultimately, she starts guesting for LP Elite....a team that OFC 03 knows they have NO chance of beating in regionals.
OFC is aware of this and invites her to player for their 02
team in State Cup.
She shows up at regionals and the OFC 03 coach springs the trap!
Granted, there's a lot of loose ends here, for instance, scheduling LP to play OFC in regionals, which is what I hear happened...but even if they didn't play 'em, they could still be reported and knocked out of pool play. Plus, OFC has a lot of pull with USYS cuz of the recent changes up here in Okie land. Also, they would have to count on the DD's dad not informing LP that they played in OK State Cup, something that is well within the expected behavior pattern....(Of course, it could be all on LP, but I would expect that they would be too sophisticated to break a rule like the and have to forfeit, so I doubt that's the story here)
It's the only thing that makes sense for such a boneheaded and deplorable thing to have happened. I feel sorry for the LP girls and family's. Great team with legit shot at taking the whole enchilada at regionals.
Again, I stress the degree of emotion that I've heard on good word that OFC has for this DD's dad. Why else would the club allow her to play for the 02's in OK State Cup after being "banned" from the club?

Plus I think they would have needed someone from Texas to help them think of, plan and execute such an elaborate scheme.

The question remains why did DD play State Cup for NWO and not LP if she played every other event during the year with LP? Still doesn't add up.

Wait a sec...  are we talking about Jamestren here???

The parent that sprung these classic quotes on us a few years back in the following thread:

https://www.txsoccer.net/t14327p25-03g-rankings-of-dallas-teams

"My DD is considered the top 03 in Oklahoma, currently plays competitive and plays forward for the top 02 team in Oklahoma, which currently plays in the top 01' Oklahoma competitive league..."

"I'm the guy who has insanely pushed my DD the past five years and people question my mental stability."

Just looked back at the thread, reading it was kind of like flipping channels and hitting the 700 Club. You know you don't want to watch but you keep it on for like 10 min.

This is comical. I bet there are some very upset LPE parents. Ha ha. And how about the guest player's dad trying to start a fight? He definitely knew his DD shouldn't be playing. I don't buy the long write by LP_Elite.

And what's there not to buy? This was the explanation that was giving to us which is not totally clear.

Rule 224. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
Section 1. A player must be properly registered and rostered in accordance with the rules of
US Youth Soccer and the State Association.
Section 2. A youth player may be on the National Championships roster of only one team at each level of the National Championships competitions during any seasonal year; provided, however, that a youth player who was rostered to a team of a club at a National Championship competition level that has been eliminated and does not advance to any level of the competition and who has been issued a club pass of that club in accordance with this policy may be rostered to another team of that club at the next level of the National Championship competitions. Subject to the foregoing, and subject to the provisions of Rule 221, Section 1 (5), at each level of the National Championships competitions, a team may add to its National Championship roster for that level as many registered youth players holding club passes of that club of which a team is a member as the team or its club determines so long as the roster does not exceed 22 players. A team may not change the club of which it is a member at any time after the commencement of the National Championship competitions and in any event only in compliance with the rules of the State Association of which the club is a member.
