Post by Sting Dallas 08 Parker on 01/03/18, 08:55 am

Sting Dallas 08 (Parker) will be training on Monday's and Wednesday's 5:15 - 6:45 at the Sting Complex beginning Monday, March 5th. The team is building for the run up to QT this summer and would love to have anyone interested come on out.

If you have any questions, please contact our new coach, Rick Parker at rickparker@stingsoccer.com

Sounds like he's going to earn his babysitting dollars. Feel sorry for the coach. He's already ready to clean out the shop he probably knows already.

Did you hear that Sting's Technical Director is also moving out of state?

I've never had a dd on a Sting team and know nothing of this situation. However, I sure would take most of the playlikeagirl and Soccermomintx (who "both" joined the board today) feedback with a whole lot of salt.

I just found out about this board, but I am close enough to the situation to stand behind my opinions.

Not sure what to tell you, or how I benefit by lying about it. But it’s Interesting that my credibility would have a direct connection to the length of time I have been on a public site where no one uses their real names. I read the emails relating to this situation and the Technical Directors move out of state.

Lots of good stuff floating on the forum outside the normal pay to play propaganda.

I'm gonna admit, I'm a total lurker! (I had a username years ago, but do to inactivity, its been deactivated).  The only reason I'm back is a close friend said I should take look, and I can see things haven't changed a bit.  The trolls are still here, armed with their multiple usernames, intimate "closeness to the situation" and "from what I heard..."s.

What I can tell you is Rick Parker is an excellent soccer coach.  He builds his players and teams up from the inside.  That is the experience of my DD.

As for baggage, It is my experience that 9-10 year old girls don't carry much onto the field...their parents on the other hand!  It sounds to me like someone(s) trying to sabotage a team, either out of jealousy or inferiority, just say'in.  Let the girls play.  Let them learn and grow. To many helicopter parents on the sidelines these days with no clue how to coach girls soccer, and add to that, petty coaches trying to push an agenda, I'm sure we've all seen it.  Parker, can stand by his record, and I assume that's why he's was tapped for this duty.

We have a friend of a friend on that team. The story I got was 4 or 5 girls wanted to make a move but got bullied and pressured into staying by the Manager, her loud husband, and 2 other sets of parents. wrote:

We are all adults here (this is a broad assumption, I know).  I find this assertion that anyone of us could be strong armed into a team selection decision for our 9 yo DD ridiculous. Are you really trying to tell me that we now have a 10U mafia making "an offer yous can't refuse:twisted: "(cue the Marlon Brando)?  If YOU let anyone dictate what YOU should do for YOUR DD, then shame on YOU!  In the end, YOU have to do what YOU believe is best for YOUR family and YOUR DD.  I have no idea how many families decided to stay after meeting with Parker, but I am willing to bet there was more to their decision than a "loud" parent.

In closing, if I were looking for a new soccer home for my DD,  Rick Parker would be at the top of my list.  Leave the drama at the door.  (mic drop)

OGNetMinder this looks fishy to me. You’re a “lurker” with a fresh account that came here because “your friend “ told you to?

Don’t call someone out then use the same lines to describe why you’re on here.

You jumped on and wrote a book. I’m thinking you are a coach. Probably Ricks good friend or someone in the Sting office trying to minimize the drama.

I don’t remember anyone saying anything about Parker as a coach... and ABSOLUTLY the parents are the problem. Kids have a better outlook then adults. Drama starts and ends with adults.

This is just hysterical, wow! Who needs soap operas when you have the NTX forum? Amazing, I’m like wow!

I think the assumptions and statements all make sense, but I feel for the 08G on that team who have to go through this mess.

OGNET, wow lol!!!! This is all funny stuff here! Who else is gonna post some good stuff, he he...

Oh wait, I almost forgot .......

I hear Weigelt was a great coach and she will fine her way to another club and have a great team but maybe she wasn't good for sting. Good luck to the new coach and his team. cheers
