Did I miss a email or something about the Texas Summer Classic? Last year as a U-10 they had 24 teams participating. Eight in the Gold Div and Sixteen in Silver Div. Why the lack of enrollment this year? Are teams traveling before the season?

My guess is that teams having to go a 2nd week into the QT may feel like that is a bit much. For your teams that don't make LHGCL, the PPL placement tournament is the following week, which would be 4 tournament weekends in a row if they played in the Summer Classic. Dont wanna burn out before the season even begins!!!

That's true, I didn't consider that other teams are still playing this weekend and then to turn around next weekend for another tournament would be a lot.

The Plano tournament is next weekend??? That is a lot for 10 yr. olds...three tournaments in three weekends...not counting Puma and Tut...playing in Summer Classic would be five weekends in a row for some teams...but I am just one voice and not nearly as eaten up with this stuff as some people...

The Placement Tournament for Plano Premier will be August 20-22.

Hi there, actually, the Plano Premier Invitational is September 3rd - 6th, 2010. August 9th is the deadline to apply for U11 through U19 competitive.

Yes, but the Placement Tournament (qualifying tournament) is August 20-22...for teams that want to play in that league. They have to qualify in order to be placed in Div 1 or 2.

You actually don't have to do the Placement tournament. If a team chooses to not participate in the PT they will automatically be placed in division 2.

While right about the not having to qualify for PPL D2, odds are that teams unsuccessfully participating in LHGCL QT this year are going to want to play in PPL D1, as league placement there will affect their seeding for LH QT next year.
Beyond that, I'm glad our team is not playing Summer Classic. My girl needs a break from tourney prep - she'll want to swim, eat French fries, drink carbonated and/or caffeinated beverages, and generally live it up 10-year old style without me constantly handing her a bottle of water and telling her to "drink this".
