    What have you learned?

    Post  Marshall70 on Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:00 pm

hello been there and done that parents!...my daughter is an '02 and she plays on very good academy team that seems to be well represented on these boards. We are new to the area, new to the league and new to the team and are looking for some advice on how to navigate through the drama of 8 year old girls soccer! Our daughter loves soccer and we want to do everything we can to keep it enjoyable for her.

What one piece of advice would you give us? What is your biggest regret? What was the best decision that you made?

And if you can't do that, don't believe anything other than scores and schedules. (And even then, double-check.)

Don't take anything to seriously. Let your daughter play if she enjoy's it.

If you're in it for college scholarship at this age / go see and financial advisor.

If at an older age, 15/16 she decides that she may want to play in college (at whatever level/ Div 1, 2 ,3 school) then find her a team that will help her get recognized.

golgolgol - thank you for using your 497th post to give my your best advice which is to "stay off this forum"!! I was kind of hoping to hear from some parents who had some good advice that they could share and a couple of you did so thanks for the advice.

I decided to search the web for help and I found the following document. I have a few favorites on this list and enjoyed reading it - maybe you will too.

You're very welcome! And if you want some truly good advice if you stick around, don't take everything so serious on here!

I said the same thing about two posts before. It's really the best advice you can get.
Don't take anything too seriously. On here or the pitch!
