Polaris is looking good as of late, great showing in the Summer Classic making the final and a nice win over Sparta today. this could be the season "sleeper" for DIII.

-Sparta vs Polaris seems to be the match up of the week in D3. Can Polaris step up and live up to their own preseason hype?
-Sting Blue is an early favorite over Liverpool Red but can Sting Blue find the consistency they were lacking last year? Should found out either way early against a team everybody says could stake a claim in taking D3 this year.

Results are in and there were a few surprises.

FC Dallas North vs Sting West......FC Dallas North 65% of votes
FC Dallas North scored with a few minutes left in the game to edge out Sting West for a 1-0 victory.

Genesis vs TFC Blue................TFC Blue 66% of votes
Genesis found a way to ink out the tie 0-0 and earn a mild upset if you go by the voting public.

Dallas Texans Red vs FC Dallas White......Texans Red 84% of votes
DTR were a lopsided voting favorite so a 1-1 tie was a big surprise here for me. Or maybe FC Dallas White is better then anybody gave them credit for?

Sparta vs Polaris........Sparta 54% of votes
This was pretty much even in the votes and Polaris managed to pull out the 2-1 win.


Sting Blue vs Liverpool Red.........Sting Blue 62% of votes
Sting Blue was able to start the season with a nice 3-1 win over LiverPool Red. Maybe they will finally start being a little more consistant this season


It was a very interesting first weekend in D3. Some surprising results and maybe it was just first weekend nerves after a long off season. I think it will be a lot more competitive from top to bottom this year. Week #2 will have some very good matchups with Sting Blue vs Polaris and DTR vs TFC Blue.
