    LHGCL Week 1 Division 2

Post  KatCon on Wed Aug 18, 2010 10:54 am

Due to the limited number of lines allowed I had to break it up by division. So who wins?

A couple of surprises to me so far.

    1. Liverpool has the edge over Dallas Texans North so far. Either Liverpool has really turned some heads or DTN isn't getting any respect after finishing 11th (1 spot out of D1) last season.

    2. Most have pick FC Dallas Red in a runaway over MEJA.

    3. FWFC vs Odyssey is to close to call at this time. Should be a good game.

    Copied from the other thread:

    D2
Texans North vs Liverpool: The highest seeded D2 team vs the D3 runner-up... I bet for a rude welcoming for the Pool...

Meja V FCD South: FCD South are one my favorites to win D2, I say they get off to a good start here...

Aztecs V FCD West: LA's one of my other D2 favorites... I say they also get off to a good start...

FWFC V Odyssey: I hear a lot of good stuff about Odyssey and I know FWFC have had some important dds go else where, so I'll go with Odyssey..

FCD East V Revs: I have seen both of these teams up close recently and I bet $20 on the Revs...

Heard Liverpool played great this past weekend and they went to the finals without conceding a goal and won the final 3 - 0. I would say they are a team moving in the right direction.

Meja may and probably will surprise a few folks.

FWFC will whip up on Odyssey and it will not be close at all. FWFC is playing great soccer and will handle all O brings and then some.

What has FWFC done to garner such adamant success? Scrimmages only this summer. I have no idea what has transpired at Odyssey so all I can go by is last seasons 1-0 loss to Odyssey. I think FWFC will win, but not sure it'll be a whippin as suggested above.

Some of the lower seeds seem to be heavy favorites in week #1.

Texans North vs Liverpool......Liverpool 55% of votes
Meja vs FC Dallas South......FC Dallas 74% of votes
Aztecs vs FC Dallas West.......Aztecs 79% of votes
FWFC vs Odyssey........FWFC 62% of votes
FC Dallas East vs Revolution Premier......Rev 89% of votes

-Liverpool is a slight favorite over the top seed Texans North.
-Aztecs seem to be a heavy favorite over FC Dallas West but I am picking this as my upset game of the week. Come on FC West....baby needs a new pair of shoes Laughing
-Can Meja get over all of the off season chaos and and new roster to take down new comer FC Dallas South?
-FC Dallas East isn't getting any respect from the masses. Can they prove 89% percent of the voting public wrong?

If Liverpool continues playing the way they did in the Classic, I think they will knock off North.
KC...I'm hoping you get those new shoes.
South will take care of Meja, Meja will get better as the season goes on, but not this time.
Rev in a blow out over the regrouped East. Another team that will need a little time to gel.

Lady A's over FCD west 2-0.

Nice win for FCD east, as my man SS would say "swing and a miss" (on my part).

    1-0 FWFC over Odyssey

FCD north 1-0 over Sting west Wolf.

Absolutely...FCD East came through against the odds almost everyone had set. Congrats to them. Revolution has been playing really well in the preseason and a lot of us thought they would come out of the gate strong.

Congrats to LA for a nice start!!

Geno, your gonna make me show up and root for SR on Saturday with comments like that... lol!
Naw it was a good match, hard fought on both sides of the ball. We had a few opportunities, just couldn't get the ball in the net. LA played a great game and deserved the win, Congrats to SR and his girls.
