Thank you for that explanation. Now could someone smarter than me please explain how the two 4 team brackets get to have 2 teams automatically qualify for the round of 8, but the single 6 team bracket is only given one automatic bye to the round of 8. Something seems way, way off. You can assume that 2 or 3 of the wild cards might come from the 6 team bracket, but the set up seems ridiculous and poorly thought out. Let me know someone else's thoughts.

    You got me... Last year's cross over brackets were played C1 v D2, D3, & C3 and D1 v C2, C3, & D3.

    There's nothing like consistency...

And I'd personally like to know how the defending champion gets seeded 4th out of 6 teams in the bracket given the playing arrangement?

It appears that the 98 seeding is just as questionable...

Captain Obvious thinks that there may have been way too much time on complaining about the "Defending Champion slight" and not enough time getting results on the field. Loss to the 3rd seed (expected), tied the 6th seed (questionable), beating the Tennessee team 6-0 for the only win of the tourney(who lost to LA's 5-0), and loss to 8th seed (ouch). I agree that the crossover setup was awful, but all 6 teams were in the same boat, and the bottom line was you've got to go out and take care of business. Maybe one could argue they were seeded too high!!!

Stangs 2-1 over Blitz in Finals.

Hard fought game by both sides after a long weekend. Blitz team and parents a class act! Very Happy

surprised the stangs aren't getting more props. they had an average showing in bracket play and barely edged into wildcard #2.

then.. blew through the playoffs (including 2 strong D1 contenders) like a kid rock runaway coors light train.

was it an express trip or does that train keep rolling to the top of LH D1??

props to the stangs for defending the home turf.

    Thanks SF!

And I know folks always say this; but the Blitz parents/families were incredible! Look forward to seeing them out at Germantown.

A few weeks ago I asked if the 99Gs were in for a crazy Fall Season and the PLD only confirmed that possiblity.

The Mustangs beat Feet out for the 8th spot (wildcard) in the Quarter Finals on the 2nd Tiebreak. After 3 Ties in Group Play Shocked Shocked

So if Feet scored one more goal anywhere, the Mustangs would have went home early. We all would have looked at them much differently... Crazy Stuff... But like such soccer lumanaries as Lonestar and Frisco Coach have explained to me: In Tournamnet play, just find a way to advance...

Now let's see how they do in League Play

Thanks again SF...Just like a lot of other teams we are looking for that right blend on the roster and rotation with the addition of new players. I agree with 909 in that this should be a crazy season and fun to watch week in week out especially when the teams find their continuity. Good luck to you and the Feet. BTW very impressed with TFC!
