Sounds to me he better be looking on his backside. I dont think Jesus will be there to help in that situation.

So I decided to just ride this greedy coach out and move my dd at the end. Just when I thought it was calm he's at it again. Scheduled a two game tournament in Austin against Ntx teams. Also found out he's registered as a college coach and we are paying his expenses. Would love to find out if he's charging the college too. Definitely done with this crook.

Maybe I should call his college and see if they are covering his expenses.

How many years has your kid actually played soccer?

You realize a coach can't pick who the team gets to play against.

A two game tournament sounds like a college showcase event. Again that's something teams like ECNL, DA, etc... Or a team attending a college showcase event do... Travel to play 2-3 games max and just showcase.

I think it is the fact that this coach has a "questionable" history of double dipping. It does suck to travel to play local teams but not much a coach can do about that except pick events that have more participation from teams out of the area.

I don’t think it’s so much who they are playing as much as it’s last minute scheduling. These teams haven’t practiced in over two months. The teams pay for his car rental in out of state showcases so he can then recruit for his college. Is he then asking for reimbursement from his college? Who knows but the majority say yes
As far as “hurt” anyone? Yes! The lack of coaching that takes place, the mind games, the belittling talk, it happens. Many girls have already left his team.

generally speaking... the calendar for the year is published when we sign contacts. Especially the select ages. Cant recall the last time a coach sprung a last minute travel tournament on us out of nowhere. Even academy days they were asking in advance, and if you couldnt make it they took a guest player.

Club is well aware of his shenanigans, and turns a blind eye as he continues to fleece his parents.

Already effectively benched a player from the tourney as he is taking a couple from his ECNL team to "replace" her.

I'm guessing her parents missed the fine print in the literature:

The team will be attending showcase tournaments. *

* Team attendance at a showcase does not mean I won't be showcasing players from other teams instead of players from this team.  You will, however, be able to showcase your bench skills - or as I like to say - you ability to sit down and shut up.

Is he still requiring the purchase of $100 soccer balls, or has he backed off that again?  Laughing

Is he still expecting you to cover his kid's meals?  Evil or Very Mad

Hahaha!! No, the $100 ball hasn’t been brought up and the child hasn’t been to any showcases, but there’s still Houston.

He only invites his “golden” girls to guest play. It’s not spread out across the board to encourage development and confidence. The team chemistry is not what it used to be.

So, he has:

ECNL team - which plays ECNL / tournaments / showcases for his ECNL players

D1 team - which plays D1 / tournaments / showcases for his selected ECNL players and any others he needs from the D1 team to fill out his roster

This coach calls tournaments with little notice quite frequently. Usually for a quick vacation.

Heard some mumbling about the LP move. What’s up with that? Surely AF didn’t leave.

AF arrival just in time after the D1 / ECNL team's performance in Austin this weekend.

You think the current D1 team will be playing a bunch of ECNL players in the spring re-match?

He had no choice the bleed and lack of players it was inevitable. Now hes got some reinforcements. It's a win for all parties from the outside looking in. Very Happy
