Did your coach receive some training from Mr. Miyagi? He must have because I have never seen so many players helped off the field with seemingly life threatening injuries only to return just a few minutes later.

Actually, our girls were beaten in a tournament championship game this summer by a "true" '99 team (not sure what you mean by "true" -- a girl is either a '99 or she isn't). Unlike your crew, they played excellent, aggressive soccer and the team and coach displayed terrific sportsmanship before, during and after the game. And we actually have several "true" '99 teams in NTX that could handily beat your girls, even with the five Attack players that supplemented your roster this weekend.

I do like the Karate Kid reference. Our coach is Mr. Miyagi. Your coach is the head of the Cobra Kai dojo, encouraging his students to "sweep the leg" and "take out the knee". Very appropriate -- thanks! And two of the four girls helped off the field didn't return. Neither did another one who was able to leave the field under her own power.

What must be really miserable is sitting at your computer and:

    1) Seeing your coach and team called out on this forum for their dirty play, and not being able to refute one single thing that has been written.
    2) Knowing that your dd's team likely wouldn't have advanced past bracket play in the Silver Flight without the help of five players from their "big sister" Attack team.
    3) Having to do it all from Oklahoma.

    Peace out! afro

Attack only had 4 players there. One of whom is a 99 who played on Black last year. There are several girls on Black that have guest played with Attack on a regular basis. None of the "guesting" Attack girls started this game or any other. The game winning goal was scored by a Black girl with an assist from a Black girl.

Let's face it. Your team is soft. They did not know how to handle a physical team. Funny how none of the other 5 teams had any problem with our play or sportsmanship. Just yours. I didn't hear FCDallas crying like babies about a physical game when we beat them 1 to 0 in the semis. Same for Wichita Falls. Only your team. An impartial observer might look at your point of view as sour grapes. I know I do.

You lost 1 to 0 in OT. A very tough game. Congratulate your dd on making it to the final in a tough tourney. You have a good team. Celebrate them instead of whining.

I can't believe I'm getting sucked back in... Mad

You say our team is soft, yet your failure to address any of your team's dirty tactics mentioned in my original post speaks volumes. Rolling Eyes

Your other five games? Didn't see them. Maybe your coach didn't feel the need to go dirty until early in the championship game, when he realized the ref didn't have a pulse (or a clue), the ARs seemed heavily medicated drunken , and the opponent wouldn't get down in the mud with them. pig Coaches approach every game differently. Hopefully this game was the exception and not the norm.

Sour grapes? Probably. Always tough to teach your dd to do things the right way, and then see her lose to someone doing it the wrong way (IMHO). Crying or Very sad

Congratulate and celebrate? We did. Any time you get to play six games in a weekend, it's a good thing. Plus, your coach and team provided us with an excellent "teaching moment" and "life lesson". For that, we really are grateful! cheers

Good luck this Fall! Maybe the teams paths will cross in the future...

I don't know what you want me to say about our girls' physical play. Were we physical? Yes. Were we dirty? No. Did we come in late on a slide tackle? Yes. Did we get called for a foul? Yes. Should that player have gotten a yellow card? Probably. But she didn't. That's the ref's decision.

How about your girl who jumped across the path of the free kick from about 3 yards away? That should have been a yellow card. No foul no nothing except your girl running into our girl and getting wiped out. Our girl even tried to help her up. Oh, and my favorite act of class: your coach flipping our bench the bird during the game. That is about as classy as it gets. Excellent life lesson to teach your daughters.

Had you won, you undoubtedly would not be here whining. You would be gloating about beating the mean bullies from the north. Instead, all you have is "coulda, shoulda, woulda".

    I leave you with this:

    TEXAS SPIRIT 98G (TXN) 0
TUSC BLITZ UNITED 98 BLAC 1

    Final

    Hardyharhar...OUT! cheers

Hey hardy har har hardly a coach

you said>>> and I quote..."Had you won, you undoubtedly would not be here whining. You would be gloating about beating the mean bullies from the north. Instead, all you have is "coulda, shoulda, woulda". "

spinal; tap said,"After a 48 hour cooling-off period, some "Silver Flight" thoughts on the PLD:

    1. Out of state teams must feel they have something to prove when they play in NTX tournaments -- unfortunately, they chose to "prove it" in the Silver Flight this weekend. We had a terrible experience playing OKC NYSA Fury Green (two grab-from-behind WWF throw-downs, one flying elbow to the side of the head, one player who kept screaming "What the freak, ref?" at the top of her lungs, and one threat to a parent), Arkansas Comets (one take-down from behind followed by a punch to the throat, three or four steamrollings from behind, several loud comments by players and parents to "foul them harder" once the game was out of reach for them, and one threat made to a parent) ,

Umm we won those games and yes we complained(as quoted above). the refs sucked.... and the team that took advantage of that played dirty and foul. and the coaches permited it.. YOU MADE THIS ABOUT YOU ALONE wanting to gloat.. go ahead gloat.. the girls of yours that played fair!!!! great game to them!!
our girls were not perfect... in the sec against NYSA Fury my DD was harshly fouled.. she got up and few mins later shoved back the girl, no foul called. But Our coach saw it, and pulled my DD for unfair play.. she sat for awhile until she cooled off (Coach teaching her right from wrong) this game is about developing our DD's skill in something they love, playing the game fairly with respect to the girls you play against and yourself as a person.. you play better teams to improve skills, which is great .(yes we lost to you, I admit it)

now we were making comments about the lack of ref ability and teams running away with the fact that the refs didn't call anything.. thats what this is all about. if you play fair and TEACH YOUR KIDS TO PLAY FAIR.... then your job is done right... you have to sleep at night knowing what you taught your kids!!!

thank you good night... you bore me

    Sleep Sleep Sleep

I was on the side lines watching the game, as the team my DD guest played for was eliminated early.

    1) Blitz United Coach and parents thank you for showing everyone who lives in OK and why truly a class act.
    2) Physical play is expected but out right trying to hurt someone is not and that is what was happening in the game.
    3) Texas Spirit parent yelling hand ball every time he could, looked like he belonged in OK with the other teams parents. Learn the rules or shut up!
    4) Refs lost control of the game in the first 5 minutes of play, should not have happened
    5) TallSoccerdad you still got that bugger

Fido still in but OUT sunny

Hey, where were you while this U13 steel cage death match for the ages was going on? It would've been nice to get some video footage posted on your site so those of us who missed out on the action could've watched at home with our popcorn and cursed the evil okie parents that raised such hooligans. Would've loved to see a clip of the Spirit coach pointing to his butt in response to other coaches taunting. Instant classic. Talk about a missed opportunity. Laughing

Next time Spirit needs to bring the Hanson brothers (from Slap Shot) as guest players to even things out.

Sorry everyone's so sleepy. Heck, guess I'm just late to the party.
Well, I didn't get to see this battle. For what it's worth, I can say that Texas Spirit plays clean. My dd's team played against them in league play and tournaments, and I've never seen them play dirty -- just good soccer.

I just want to say that Texas Spirit is a good team and the game that they played NYSA Fury was very competitive. The 2 teams played last year to a 0-0 tie and are pretty evenly matched. As for Blitz... they have their issues. However i was not sure if anyone knew this, but they brought 5 players from their Blitz ATTACK team. It must be nice to take 5 players from your Gold team and put them on your second team and go trophy hunting.

Actually, it was only 4 Attack players. One of which only came up to Attack from the black team this season (made sense to ask her). The same coach coaches both black and Attack. It was mearly a matter of convenience to have adequate subs. Besides, they could have lined up all the players after the game and nobody on the sideline could pick out the attack players from the black players.

Oh so sorry, only 4 ringers instead of 5. That makes it OK. Rolling Eyes

Were these same players playing on the Attack team during the tourny? That's against the rules. Maybe Blitz should forfiet?
