Ask your daughter how they treated the JV team? Do you think telling them they don't have the right to talk to Varsity, that they are not good enough or haven't earned it, or need to walk behind them builds camaraderie? Maybe some new student leadership next season will change things.
And obnoxious Wakeland parents screaming for the red? Don't think that really surprised anyone.

I'm certainly no fan of Wazup and his terminal case of Chronic Victim Syndrome (just read his posting history on here), but frankly that article, and your comment, applies to every single person that's spent any time reading and/or posting on this forum.

It's been a blast but I guess it's time to go back reality as I have grown tired of this topic. You try to talk civilly to people and when they can't respond with a civil response I have to accept the fact that there is no need to waste any more energy. Marvelous out...
I have an observation since our HS played Wakeland last year in the regional game, losing 2-0 Both sides were aggressive, as they should be, but Wakeland was simply better prepared. They used 18 players, knew that the 2017-2018 team didn't make any in-game adjustments and held tight until the 2nd half when they opened up their attack once our girl's legs got rubbery. They subbed often in the 2nd half and attacked hard. We didn't do anything different to answer. Game over. But not because of any dirty play or poor reffing.
Looking at the video and I didn't see all 80, it does appear obvious that the game got out of control. Emotions are high that deep into the playoffs and adrenalin is flowing like mad. Marvelous your daughter should not have even gotten hurt because 5 seconds before she did, the HP player threw herself onto the FW defender when she saw that she wasn't going to win the ball, so she went for the player. That should have been called right there and they let the game play on then, yet again, after HP got beat, the cheating player tripped your kid as she was readying to fly down the line, but instead got her shoulder destroyed and now she's out 2 months. I don't blame the players as much as the officials and coaches. The officials for letting things get out of control, like they usually do (not always) and maybe to a degree the coaches. But you want to see a dirty play? Look at the Video Highlight on Max Preps for Prosper v. Allen last month. Closing minute of the game and Allen takes a free kick from the 20. They chip it to the goalie for what should have been an easy catch. However the whole purpose of the play was to give the wall of Allen players time to move with the ball and destroy the goalie as the ball arrives. Goalie punches the ball away and gets trucked (and knocked out of the game) as planned. But the play, both dirty and brilliant worked! The ball hit the wall of players and bounced into the goal, which was the design of the play, but the late hit on the goalie got the goal nullified and the offending player was issued a red card, as deserved. Allen was banking on getting a no-call, which they often do, but this time the 2nd ref had the guts to make the correct call. That doesn't happen often. I have to admit, my daughter has never played for a coach that encouraged harming others, but those coaches exist.
So no, Wakeland is not dirty. Aggressive? Yes. Dirty? No. Congrats on last years state title and I hope your daughter heals quickly Marvelous one.
