It’s your kid’s responsibility to make the connections with the college coaches. They have to call and email and yes, the coaches do read those emails and respond, depending on the level. D1 and D2 coaches can also talk directly to your coaches (high school and club) and often do so, from our experience.
That was ... until last Wednesday.
Surprised that this didn't get more publicity. This new round of rules appears to close some of the loopholes that were still present when the first set of changes went into affect last August. In theory, since there is now ZERO contact allowed before June 15th post-Sophomore year of HS, it would appear the new rules would prohibit any verbal offers being made prior to then, BUT the NCAA also states that verbal offers aren't legislated. I also couldn't find anything about grandfathering of any verbal offers that were given to HS Sophs or younger prior to the new rules taking affect on May 1, 2019. It will be interesting to follow TopDrawer to see if there is a sudden drop-off in 2021's/2022's announcing commitments, or if there was a rush of verbals that went out prior to May 1.

On the contrary DTX, I thought the change was extensively publicized. Definitely closed most loopholes outside of the "camps" conversations
And yes ... There was a significant flurry of conversations + verbals made on April 29-30.

NBN, as I read it, you are correct that the college coaches can still talk to your club or HS coach about general interest in your kid, but can’t talk about any kind of scholarship offer or financial parameters before June 15 after Soph year.
BigE, as I understand it, even the “camps” discussions can’t be about recruiting or anything related to a scholly offer, but who knows. If a loophole exists, I’m fully confident that the coaches will find a way to take maximum advantage.
Like I said, the language published by the NCAA sure makes it seem like there’s no way a coach could communicate a verbal offer to a player before the summer after Sophomore year, but I find it quite curious that they also clearly stated that verbal offers are “not legislated”.
What they did last August certainly didn’t stem the tide of Freshman and Sophomore commits. We’ll see if the new rules have any real teeth.

Don't shoot the messenger. If you could read the entries, this is information relayed from many sources not just one person, including feedback and Q and A from coaches, L'pool coaches, players and players parents.
So your last comment about being cautious is about the only accurate argument you bring up.
Seem like the voice of at least 9 other people vs your single man crush blind opinion would hold some merit to many. Simply not a coach I would ever trust with my kid's future. END of discussion.

Re: DKSC ECNL/ECRL U18/19 Tryout Sessions
ONLY 7 or so staying at last count, not such a productive move after all. "New" coach Lost about 2/3's of team, most of which were primary players for previous coach/team. His lack of communication, leadership and understanding of the players on the team, led to a mass exit of players. No need to spin doctor this at all. But yea, its all about winning.............still waiting for the next college coach to ask a player their team record, college coaches could care less!!!
Limited attendance at tryouts, so had to back fill from his old NPL team which he declared publicly in a meeting in front of 120 people, that only 1-2 of those players had the talent to play ECNL. Spin it however you like, but that IS what happened.
That is what happens when you tell the entire team to look at other options in your first 1-2 weeks And you have suspect and very limited communication skills, arguably the most important part of coaching at this age and level.
Just wait til these kids start their HS seasons........that will fun to watch and see how he acts on that, maybe he has learned some lessons, but doubt it.
Bad move, end of discussion.

You know they make a cream that’ll soothe the serious case of butthurt you have. Pretty sure you can get it at any Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, or neighborhood Kroger.
Just sayin’.
