I would definitely give one of the 99's a golden chance at making the finals vs. Solar Red 98 and would be a big feather in their cap if they were to win it.

What are you talking about? The only reason they are doing it is because that way they have nothing to lose....are they afraid of getting upset against a 99 and then what????? oh no.... their ranking may go down a bit.....so what!

Commish--I think you have it all wrong here Evil or Very Mad . They are doing the right thing to play up and against better and tougher competition. It's hard to knock a young team getting ready to go select wanting to play up and against tougher competition. Just be glad your team does not have to play either team. DTR plays up every year in this tourney and they never run from any one. This year with 20 teams making D1 the rankings for the top teams is really a non factor. I agree with KatCon-props to both teams and best of luck. I predict one of them will make it to the finals. Check back later commish. cheers

I just don't think props are warented. I agree both are very good teams, but come on.....lets set the stage and be real. So do you think they are going to go down in skill next year when they spend a season playing LHGCL against their own age? oh, and also I would love to play both teams this weekend.

No props are warented for sure, teams do this every year. Everyone that the tournament officials would allow could have played up. The competition that you play against can be a big factor in the development of players therefore if you want to say that those teams are going to get worse by playing against their own age then I doubt it, but would they improve quicker by playing up, most definitely unless they can't handle the size and speed of the older players and in that case it would not do them good to get discouraged and possibly hurt.

These two teams, as well as Solar & Sting Audrey are light years ahead of all the other 99's. I am surprised that all 4 teams didn't play up. But the bottom line is that it doesn't matter.

All of the other 99's that are on that second tier would always love to play these teams because it only makes them better but does not help the top teams prepare for QT. Can't blame a team for trying to improve their game!

Don't leave out #4 ranked Solar Red. Audrey will be gunning to move up a notch by beating Solar Red if they both advance to the finals. Anybody know their records against each other?
