I still don't understand the big fuss about a couple of the top 99 teams playing up.

Do you really think that if either DTR or Sting did get beat by a 99 team it would affect their overall seeding very much? I don't. And with 20teams going in to D1 this year I don't see that big of impact if you're seeded 1-5. So if a team did get beat maybe they drop from 2-3 or a team moves from 5-4, 8-6.....if you can't qualify for D1 this year then you don't need to be in D1. Let the better teams play up and get experience. Take care of your own business and you will be okay...worry about everyone else and it will be a long year.

If you play against your 99 competitors and lose, then it can impact where you are seeded for QT

Playing against 98 girls or 99 boys won't impact your seeding if you don't have success...and nothing but upside if you do have success

Same reason the BCS schools won't play non-BCS schools in college football...nothing to gain and tons to lose

You Lost me at BCS...lol.....but now I understand the rest...thanx TT.... Embarassed

Well put Elk! The top 5 ( or even top 10 for that matter) have nothing to worry about. Even if someone pulls an "upset" they are still going to be in D1, so no big deal. I just feel sorry for 15-20, they are going to have a long year.

I think playing up hurt the 97 Royal team in QT seeding. They were a top tea, and got seeded a few spots lower. Just take care of business and you will be fine. Just make sure you don't over estimate what your team is, that is when you can be disappointed

Did the 97s fall like what? From #3 to #5 in a 50 team field??? Did it actually hurt them beyond the TM world?

Did your team take care of business this weekend?

I doubt either DTR or Sting Flanny are disappointed with both making it to the semis in Puma's 98 gold division. DTR lost to SR98 4-1 in the semis - nothing for anyone to hang their head low about. SR is a top five D1 98 team. Likewise, Sting Flanny met SR98 in the championship losing only 3-2. Great competitive soccer. Good showing for these 99s.

For sure Flanny fared better than anybody else against Solar Red 98 with 2 one point losses

IMO Farley and Flanny would both be top 7-8 in the 98s.

I've seen a couple of hiccups but some very good play in between. What have you seen?

Just my observation after watching Solar Red 98 play Sting twice and Texans once....both teams are definitely capable of beating top 98 teams. Both teams play terrific soccer, fundamentally sound, quality speed of play, very resilient and fought the whole time no matter what the score was.

Texans obviously have a couple of players that are a notch above everyone else in the 99 age group, but Sting seemed to have more depth across the board....not a whole lot of separation between the two teams

Both teams played great this weekend...and other than pride, it really doesn't matter which team is seeded #1 or #2 for QT

Difficult to believe that either Farley or Flanny would both be top 7-8 in the 98s after only one tournament. 98 talent was not well represented this weekend. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Don't know why that is hard to believe??? You can say the same about all the age Groups at this point in time (11 & 12 years old)... The top of D1 will always compete well with the bottom of D1 in the next age up... And it only gets closer as the kids grow older.....

I did not say they can not compete with btm 5 D1 teams. But to say they rank 7-8 after playing only 1 D1 team and in only one tournament is premature. It takes a lot more games to derive at that conclusion.

Also, there is not much difference between the btm 5 D1 and top 6-7 98 D2 teams.

I agree.... In fact I am excited to see Solar 98 play in D1 this year... I saw them a bit in Houston and they seem good to go...
