Traveling in the U11 age is not worth it. It is better to stay and play here, other clubs travel here just to play 11v11.

There are only about 4 areas, including NTX, that play 11V11 at U11... The rest of the country plays 8V8 through U12 and start 11V11 at U13... That is why no National Champs until U13.... Without going into detail you can find US Club Soccer Events, like Houston, which will do 11V11 for the younger ages just for the Tournament... I wish NTX played 8V8 through U12 as well.... MORE TOUCHES and DECISION MAKING on the small sided fields....

Thanks for the info. I agree that it would help the development of the players to play small sided at the younger ages.

Theres only 5 Great D1 Teams out there, The rest are just the same as D2 or D3....No Team Lower Themselves by playing aother Elite top 30 team in Lake Highlands...

Sting Royal is making this trip to play a bunch of D3 teams and why? I am going to go out on a limb and predict a Sting Royal victory in this tourney!

Yes, you are right why should the any great D1 Team lower themselves to play the second class they call D3.

You should really try to get out more often...simply not true and in some areas of the country people travel 60 plus miles to avoid 8v8 lol!

In all seriousness, I do respect your point...and it stems from the netherlands model...but it is simply a pipe dream here in the US where we are all about results and less about development! Not saying that is the best way to develop kids but talking about anything else is simply wasting time... Neutral

sigh...I doubt these top teams will stick to their age group...Will bet you they play up or against boys...pretty standard really for any top team travelling to a weak out of town tournament

Always love traveling to another city to play all of the LH teams we play locally! Running around the halls at night seems fun for the girls though...

Not that they will be overly challenged but Sting Royal is bracketed in the U12 silver bracket. They will be up against some South TX teams that way. I would still pick them to win their division but may have more of a challenge.

Parents get on here speaking big on Sparta and then they end up in the Silver of a OUT OF TOWN Tournament?????? That would be the best time to challenge yourself.... But hey, I'm not a coach. What do I know?

Gotta agree, why would two plano teams be in the Gold and two LH teams be in the silver? I understand the two playing up, but not sure I understand the other unless they are just trying to boost the self esteem going into the season.

SPARTA requested to be in the Platinum level when we registered. Which was the top level, Not sure how we wound up getting put in the silver.
