We have officially confirmed that we will have use of the turf field at Colleyville Middle School for our Fever United 3 v 3 League. Colleyville Middle School is located at 1100 Bogart Lane, Colleyville, TX 76034. The league will officially begin on December 16, 2012 from 3:00P.M. - 5:00P.M. The League format is as follows:

Cost: Free for members within the club and members outside of the club.

League Dates: 3 v 3 games will be played on December 16, December 23, January 6, January 13, January 20

League Rules: Parents are not allowed on the field. They must sit in the stands and no sideline coaching will be tolerated. These 3 v 3 games must allow the player to think for themselves without any outside instruction. The players will form their own 3 v 3 Team. The coaching staff will ensure that every player has the opportunity to play in these games. Coaching Staff will serve as moderators for the games to ensure play is consistent. Coaches are not allowed to coach. We are only allowed to observe and motivate the players. If there are a surplus of players over our maximum capacity, they will have to wait to play the winner of any given game before they are able to effectively compete. Winners will stay on the field until they are defeated. We want to encourage a pick-up game atmosphere where more playing time is based upon winning. If you win...you stay on the field.

Number of fields available: There will be eight 3 v 3 fields available to play on if we can accommodate 4 small fields on each half of the turf field. The turf field will successfully accommodate up to 48 players competing at one time. We will line each field off using orange or red cones for the boundaries. Goals will be denoted by yellow cones.

League Time: Games will run from 3:00P.M. - 5:00P.M every Sunday weather pending. The following age groups will play from 3:00P.M. - 4:00P.M: '07 - '04 Boys and Girls. The following age groups will play from 4:00P.M. - 5:00P.M: '03 - '00 Boys and Girls.

Coach, it wasn't entirely clear from the original post. Is this open to players outside the club? If so, what is the cost?

Thanks!

Footbull thank you for your inquiry. The 3 v 3 is open to any member regardless of club affiliation. Our primary goal as a club is to provide Tarrant County players and parents with multiple developmental resources without having to drive all over Dallas for touches on the ball. Feel free to pass the information along to any of your teammates and parents. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thanks,

I'm glad it went well. I will try to get some players out there when schedule allows time. Nice to see this kind of thing in Tarrant County.

Are you still planning on having 3v3 this Sunday? Just two days before Christmas?
We might make the journey west to check it out. Would you suggest a sub or two like a normal 3v3 tourney or with the event being 1 hour.... just have 3 girls per 'team' and no subs. Thanks Fever for offering this off season option!

Solarpower00 we are still planning on offering the Fever United 3 v 3 League on December 23. We had a great turnout of about 40-50 players for our first weekend offering this league. I would suggest rostering 3 players per team due to the 1 hour playing format. We want maximum touches on the ball for every player coming out during that hour time frame. If there is a case where we have an odd amount of players, we will then be forced to look at adding substitutes on to teams. We are looking forward to seeing you and your team out there this weekend. Enjoy your holidays. santa

FlippinA it is possible to bring your entire team out to the 3 v 3 League. If you decide on doing that, I would suggest that they already have their own 3 v 3 Teams formed before they arrive if they want to play together. I can't say for sure how many teams we are epecting this weekend because the cost is free and there are no financial obligations forcing parents and players to participate in this league. Per my original post, we plan to create a "pick-up" atmosphere where players come to get extra touches on the ball without any financial commitment from the parents right now. If you know other teams that may be interested in this type of opportunity please continue to pass the word along. Enjoy your Holidays and we look forward to seeing you and your team this weekend.

Thanks,

Fever United Futbol Club 3 v 3 League (Tarrant County) Empty Good times and exhaustion

Post by Tiki-taka 24/12/12, 10:13 am

Great time had by all the players that were out there for the 4 to 5 PM period, at least as far as I could tell. My DD was HAPPY and exhausted. There were 7 fields of 3v3 or 4v4 going on. The entire hour was packed with playing. It was so much fun to watch that the hour flew by. Parents for the most part sat back watched and laughed and had just as much fun. I think the earlier session had more parents still coaching, from my observation.

Asked DD if she wanted to go next time, she gave me the look and said do you even have to ask! We'll be out there weather permitting. I guess the next one is January 6th?

If you are thinking about this, just do it, relax, have fun watching and hanging out with other parents, probably alot of your friends. Bring some hot cocoa, or a hot toddy! And don't coach. The girls are doing enough of that themsleves and still smiling!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Welcome back from the Holiday Season. It was a beautiful day for soccer and we had an outstanding turnout for our Fever United 3 v 3 pick-up League! We saw over 130 players between the hours of 3:00P.M. - 5:00P.M. We are looking forward to providing more available fields for a bigger turn out next weekend. The next opportunity to participate in the Fever United 3 v 3 League will be Sunday January 13, 2013 at the Colleyville Middle School. We hope to see you and your family out there.

Thank you for the continued support!
