Legends Showcase Collection Drive

Liverpool 02G Dalglish wants to honor our "Legends" (our Veterans) during the Legends Showcase.

They have reached out to the DFW Veterans Affairs Medical Center to collect items needed for our homeless veterans here locally in Dallas, TX. They are also working with Honor Flight to have 'Thank You' cards given to those Veterans coming home from their Washington DC trip, back to Dallas at the end of this month.

The DFW VA has informed us of some of their Wants and Needs. They need in both Travel or Regular Sizes: Deodorant, Toothpaste, Single Pack Toothbrush, Shower Gel/Wash (no bars), Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, Powder, Shaving Cream, Razors, Hairbrushes, Combs, Hair Clips/Pony Tail Holders, & Lip Balm. Other items needed are: Books, Phone Cards, Envelopes #10, Small Writing Tablets, Pens/Pencils, Puzzle Books, Crayons & Coloring Books. They can also use Gently Worn or New Clothes: Jackets, Pants/Slacks, Jeans, Shirts, T-Shirts, and Skirts/Dresses.

As for the 'Thank You' cards, we have been informed us that letters can be hand written, electronic, cards, drawing or whatever. They can be addressed, Dear Honorable Veteran, Dear Veteran of the Greatest Generation, or whatever people feel appropriate or whatever they feel comfortable with. Honor Flight asks us to not send cookies, pictures in glass frames, heavy objects, and/or anything that will not fit in a 10X13 envelope. If you have children it is a great way to get them involved creating a work of art that will truly be treasured.

They will have collection boxes at Check-In and working on having them at all Soccer Complexes, as well. We hope all the Boys and Girls in the NTX Soccer Community will help us make this a great turnout with a small token of our appreciation for these Veterans.
