Hello,

I'm relocating from Seattle in August where my 3 girls have been playing premier soccer.  We'll be living in the Starwood area of Frisco (West).  Any advice on teams or the process to get the girls going?  The girls are playing 03, 04 and 05 this summer.  Are there tryouts for these teams and if so when?

Riley (U12)     06/2003      Defender
Sofia (U11)    10/2003       Striker / Midfielder
Ansley (U10)  07/2005       Midfielder / Striker

Brent

Welcome to Texas. For your U10 daughter, come to open training at Blue Sky in The Colony from 6-730pm on Wednesday with Liverpool Redknapp. Several teams in all of your daughters' age groups practice at this facility just down the road from you.

Feel free to send an email to matthew.springate@liverpoolfcamerica.com as well to coordinate. Select signing is only 10 days away.

Welcome to NTX!

Solar or Solar Red if you really dont care to drive for your 02 and 03 daughters. Dallas Kicks has an excellent up and coming 04 team that is looking for players also.

Check the teams/players looking section for each of your DD's respective age. This time of year there are a ton of posts from teams w/ usually coach & manager contacts, and what positions they are looking for. Signing is July 1, but don't panic if you won't be in town by then. Most teams keep 1 or 2 spots open in case some super stud suddenly shows up from out of town so still contact possible teams after July 1 from the same contacts in the teams looking section. Best of luck and welcome to the crazy world of north Texas soccer.

For the next few days, you should reference them as U11, U10 and U09. I think the age group bumps after July 1, but not totally sure. There are a lot of choices in the 04, 05 age groups. Just a matter of checking out some teams to see what fits for you.

You'll be living practically across the street from the FC Dallas facility. I would get on the FC Dallas youth home page and contact coaches from there. You can see league standings at www.girlsclassicleague.com

Just my personal opinion, but I'm not sure if this is an accurate statement.  Most coaches are trying to fill their rosters with the top players at this time.  If they're able to get 16 top players they normally sign.  Holding 1 or 2 spots for super studs from out of town in August, very unlikely.   I would talk to those coaches now.  If you have video to show their talent/skills I would send it so they can have an idea of the level of play.  Div I coaches are not going to hold a spot for unknown hoping Mia Hamm shows up in August.  However, the lower level team may hold a spot due to not being able to fill rosters.

Since you're going to be located in the Northern sector of the Metroplex I'm sure you'll be able to find some team for your DD to play on.  In Dallas we have several Leagues.
-    Lake Highlands with 3 divisions. This is our top league and one of the top leagues in the nation.  The top 30 teams play in this league.
-    Plano League has 1 or 2 divisions depending on age group.  This holds team ranking 31-50.
-    Arlington League has 1 or 2 divisions depending on age group.  (This league is in the southern sector of Dallas)

I would look at Lake Highlands and then move to Plano depending on the level of play.  When looking at 60 teams I'm sure you'll find a roster spot somewhere.

Good luck and Welcome to Dallas!

Before you get blind-sided by all the sharks from the club teams out there..take some time to come to the area and check out all the options that are available to you. Make sure that whatever club team you choose meets your children's long term goals and works for you in regards to practice locations, commute time, commitment level and of course cost.

Welcome to Texas - !!
