UAL Spring 2016 Registration OPEN

UAL (United Academy League) now with 5 different associations is excited to announce the 8th season of academy league play for boys and girls U7, U8, U9 and U10. UAL provides a variety of playing formats for all age groups now directed and scheduled by Nicole James. Along with great fields and great competition, UAL will also offer an extremely competitive registration rate.

UAL has made some changes to benefit those who are still playing recreational and for those coaches' who have multiple teams in multiple leagues!  You will now have the choice to register for SATURDAY ONLY play or SUNDAY ONLY play!  Each team will still have four (4) different divisions to choose from.

Season will begin on February 12th weekend  

Under 7 (09) - 22 minutes $540 7 v 7 (60 x 40) 14 max roster
Under 8 (08) - 25 minutes $640 8v8 (80 x 50) 16 max roster
Under 9 (07) - 25 minutes $655 9 v 9 (80 x 50) 18 max roster
Under 10 (06) - 25 minutes $655 9 v 9 (80 x 50) 18 max roster

All teams will be scheduled to play 8 games, guaranteed 6. In the event of a rainy spring season, all local teams need to plan on playing during the week.  All conflicts for competitive play will be rescheduled – not for indoor!  Cost per team includes all referee fees.

Many teams have had 2 consecutive seasons being shorted games.  Have some of the worries when CFBAL and UAL combined come true?  What was 10 games a couple years ago, is now 6 for many.  Division playoff games are no more. 2015 is the wettest year on record, but how does UAL compare with other leagues for reschedules?

The following is based on all U8-U10 Boys and Girls Fall Standings:
Arlington:  100% of teams played all 10 games
PT: Teams with 8 games: 71.3%, 7 games: 25.5%, 6 or less 3.2%
UAL: Teams with 8 Games 37.2%, 7 Games, 37.5%, 6 or less 25.3%

Team Count U8-U10 Boys and Girls:
Arlington: 87
PT: 157
UAL: 328

Is Nicole given the resources and latitude to work as hard as she used to in order to reschedule games or does UAL tie her hands?  Are there too many teams in UAL given the number of fields that the league has available?  Should more weeknight/Friday night games be played? Something else?????

Will you be offering 11v11 for the 05AP teams?

05's is considered competitive so therefore I cannot have an 05 AP division. The 05's can only play on the 06 teams who are not registered in an AP division.

Correct. UAL will not change the playing format to the new federation guidelines until fall 2016. The teams are not asking for smaller field size, just assistance with a roster of fewer players.

I think in prior seasons, if labeled "rained out", they didnt get rescheduled, rescheduled games just dropped off and reappeared later.

So I assumed...and we know what that does.

Now I get it - no this season I will be using week nights for the local teams to help ensure everyone gets their 8 games scheduled - heck it's been a year since that's happened.....I kinda owe ya don't you think?
