Solar McKinney Fields

Any truth to the rumor that Solar is losing the McKinney fields?

Yes, The powers that be have claimed eminent domain in order to expand infrastructure in that area, and those fields have been/are to be absorbed. Most of the teams/coaches stopped using them months ago, but the few remaining teams are moving to practice locations more towards Frisco/Plano from what I have seen. Just like most other clubs, it depends on the team/coach though Solar is talking discussing options with several locations about long term agreements closer to that (McKinney/Frisco/Plano) area where the vast majority of our families live.

Maybe they can get access to that nice new turf field MISD will be building on the NW corner of 121&75?

It was a nice facility to practice at, but as I've said before, if you are trying to attract new players and you tell most people that you practice East of 75 and North of 121, you might as well tell them that you practice in Oklahoma.  A move towards Frisco/Plano will help the Solar Gold teams out in the long run.

Sounds great, but where on 121? 121/Sam Rayburn thru Frisco - Plano - Allen is pricey real-estate, and club fees are high enough!
