man, this AP crap has a social promotion feel to it. For the 03's especially....It doesn't apply to everyone, but back in middle school, those kids that weren't "qualified" to move on to the next grade, but were too old to stay in their current grade...were socially promoted!! But hopefully the AP 03 teams aren't as potent because of the ECNL ambitions. They may simply adjust well and accordingly.

Quite amazing how, within less than a year, he has managed to not only catch but beat his old team (which under him used to be untouchable).
But I am not surprised. My dd enjoyed a couple of guest practices under him at LP and I have to say his training is without peer. My wish is that he would one day take an 05 team but looks like he is skipping that age group. His players just seem to play in a different way IMO.

True though. There was not one team that could compete with Elite a couple years back. Elite is way more direct now too much kickball

Meh!! Are they more direct? Sure. Some of it's personnel change, some of its coaching. You can decide if it's good or bad. If you don't see it then you either aren't looking or don't know what you are looking at. Say what you will about them they still won CL 2 years in a row and did it with 12 and then 11 all while having their main CB out to injury on a team already short of defenders. They shifted, pitched in and got it done. Back to back needs to be one of the things you add to your list to say about the team.

and remember you ain't doing $#!t unless somebody hates you for it.

So which one is it the gap closing or the elite team not what it was and playing direct? You can't have it both ways. Either Elite is the same team it always was and everyone else has just closed the gap OR they are no longer what they once were. Oh and my sniggering was never about ECNL itself. It was always about parents making decisions based on ECNL that was years away. Literally had a parent tell me 4 or 5 years ago I needed to leave LW at LP because they didn't have ECNL. what? she needs to learn to play first. So now that we are here at ECNL time to all of the parents that made every strategic move based on ECNL and not going to and ECNL team what are you thinking now?

Oh and is LP elite back up to 2nd? They had dropped to like 4th or something I think. That scary #1 team in the nation, one of the best of NTX soccer is probably gone and it is sad (or funny, rewarding depending on perspective I guess) but the team has a hell of a lot of good players on it and it's figuring out a new identity so we will see what the next year holds. The road is long and they will always be held to a standard that will be hard to replicate

I didn't bring my DD into this SOAP did. I'm sure my kid is not a top D1 player and is not as good as his kid. However, even you Go have intimated there is a lack of quality coaching at Elite.

Hey I am all on board with the style of direct play and no longer being dominant. You lost me at sniggering at ecnl at U2 and the mythical closing of the gap without clearly identifiable reasons.

I will do my one and hopefully only apology. It really wasn't about calling out your DD (no idea who she is) it really was more about his dd being extremely good and probably better than most people on the forums DD's.

I am sorry for calling out your DD.
