So at Liverpool "Elite" equals less costs???
All,
I sat down and had great meeting with Liverpool FC America CEO/President Peter Brody yesterday and the meeting went well. Peter values and appreciates these remarkable group of girls and what they have accomplished over the years. For the up and going 2016-2017 season, Peter is offering the following for new and current players of LP 03G Elite.
2016/2017 Club Dues will be roughly about $2650 (give or take) not including uniforms. All current and new players to LP 03G Elite will receive a .25% discount on Club Dues.. Roughly about $662.50 off.
$2650 (Club dues) - $662.50 (.25%) = $1987.50
Peter will pay for new Liverpool Red replica kit valued at roughly about $125.00. Red authentic replica kit is replaced yearly.. This does not include the white uniform kit and practice uniforms.
$1987.50 - $125.00 (Red replica kit) = $1862.50
Peter Brody has also volunteered to pay for 5 to 6 tournaments throughout the year, a savings of roughly between $360 - $400 dollars. Tournaments fee can average between $55 to $65 per player depending on total tournament cost. Great way to start off the 2016-2017 season by passing this discount onto you.

Why should a team end up paying approx $1200 less (fees + free tourneys) than the other club teams? If anything it should be the opposite. If your daughter is on a team that plays in a lower cost league then they should pay less. This type of favoritism doesn't sit well with me, in my opinion, if Mr. Brody is willing to do this for one of his teams he should be willing to do the same for all of them.

Hope it's a typo. Pretty sure .25% of $2650 isn't $662.50...

NoSpinZone wrote:Wow, a discount to be on LHGCL Champs and the #3 team in the country. You just offered up free advertising for them. You can probably call it the 'Lack of ECNL Discount'.
Yes it does advertise the wonderful opportunity their team is receiving, but what about the other teams within the club who are having to pay full price to support this discounts? Who knows maybe Peter Brody does this for all his top teams; "congrats on finishing near the top, here's your big discount (even for new players that didn't earn the discount!), don't worry the "lesser" teams will cover your costs". If my daughter was on a LP team that wasn't getting the same offer extended to them I would find a new home as soon as possible.

I would imagine most of these girls could get full rides (scholarships) with other teams/clubs.
BTW, Academy teams for boys are FREE. Elite girls should have held off for at least 75% discount!

Not to derail the thread but you brought up a good point. Have no idea about NCAA violation but could the amount given ( $663 and $125) be considered a taxable event by the IRS? Most scholarships I have known about were needs based and probably considered charity but in this event it looks like just a gift.
Not an accountant but interested to see what an accountant thinks about this. Could the IRS have a field day with youth soccer parents?

Who cares what LP does? No other LP parents are on here complaining about this if it is in fact true. I find it hard to believe that Mr. Brody would sit down and discuss the finances of his business with someone who has no part in said business. If they do have a problem with it then DDs all over better be ready to compete for their spots as they may see an influx of new faces at practices. And no, I am not a LP parent.

It's obvious you aren't an accountant.

No it's true. I stand by my statement but to clarify let me elaborate.
No one ELSE can fix stupid, hateful or ignorant people; that decision must be made by the individual themselves.

Everyone on this forum wants a college scholarship some day. Guess who gets the full ride and guess who subsidizes them?
How would Bernie handle this issue.

I like your little screen name...sounds righteous. Your kid doesn't play for LP, yet you wanted to be "transparent" and present the "truth". My how heroic. Why should you care? I could understand someone from within the LP organization, but you?
