I don't see DA being at the expense of ECNL. I think the press announcement is just a reminder that ECNL is around.

I re-read the article and it seems as though Sting and Texans received a spot and the other clubs still have their spots????

"After initiating this review process, and in discussions with leadership of top performing clubs, the ECNL has approved the membership of the below listed clubs at this time, and each club has re-affirmed its membership in the ECNL in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. The ECNL will continue to review other clubs’ eligibility for membership."

Really, that's not how I read it. I read it as there were teams in the 2015-16 season, who as of now, are not members for 2016-17... but maybe my comprehension skills are a little off.

There are 5 ECNL clubs in NTX, Sting, Texans, FCD, Solar and D'Feeters. The article is simply saying that Sting and Texans will continue to be a part of the ECNL for the next 2 seasons whereas the other 3 have yet to confirm. Mostly likely, they all will be back unless they ate not invited back.

I read it as either not yet approved by ECNL or approved and not confirmed by the clubs.

I'm sure the 3 will not have ECNL anywhere on the contracts until approved and confirmed...can u imagine if not...

One of the 5 did not get a DA spot.  If I were that club, I would be in the front of the line begging to be approved in ECNL for the next 2 years.

Regarding the club that didn't get a DA spot... Do you know what impact, if any, the merger might have on their eligibility to maintain the ECNL membership?

Feet will remain ECNL and did not apply for DA. ECNL is announcing member clubs in three releases from what I've been told.
