I wonder if this happens if tournament not played on the surface of the sun. How did this thing end up in TX?

It was hard to watch for ten seconds. Brutal.

The referee was NOT in on the fix - that dude is so happy to be there and working to get in great position!

white plays it back and forth for a while, then sends ball long and you hear "let it go!". blue back line plays it back and forth.

I was getting tired watching the referee.

Wow, that does not reflect well on either club nor does it represent what the youth game is about. The seal has been broken. You will begin to see other groups do the same thing in the future.

This whole debacle is a crying shame!!!!I am sure this isn't the first time something like this has happened but I am saddened that they felt it was necessary to do that after working so hard to get to this point only to throw in the towel.

That is pathetic. Both teams should be disqualified and both coaches should be sanctioned and and licenses suspended for at least a year. I'm not sure if the center referee had any authority to push that further but if he did, then he should also have his license jeopardized.

Wow! That was difficult to watch. US soccer's response indicates that some kind of punishment will be coming and I hope it is swift and severe. To make a mockery of the Nationals is unacceptable.

Well, the question is will US Youth step up and do a thorough investigation?

Now that's a memory. I graduated college in 1981 and at that point barely knew soccer was a sport except for Bobby Moffat and the Dallas Tornado. My how times have changed.

If you listen closely, you can still hear a slew of obnoxious parents coaching their DDs on how to trap the ball, make a soft pass to a fellow defender and then cheer when the ball was cleared to the other team.

So you're saying it wasn't much different from your typical Lake Highlands game then?

It's a team game, I thought the better team won.

I thought SoCal was trying to dominate with athleticism, speed and power. I thought they had the advantage in all those regards. Their problem was they were playing kick & run. The longer the game went, the less they could run.

I thought Solar's superior pass & move just wore them down. I also thought that the Solar defender that marked SoCal's star forward for huge portions of the game was tremendous. The unsung hero of the game. Made her work and work and work and work. Yes, she scored, but after Solar equalized, she couldn't answer, there was nothing left in the tank.

Tremendous athletes on both sides, but the team with the better team game won.

I think you added this to the wrong post OLJW. I agree with everything you just said BTW. Glad to see it work out that when the beautiful game is played beautifully, the team who played this way won.
