Re: CHARITY MONEY
OLJW wrote:$800,000 cash, reported to the IRS in May 2015. It's been growing by about $200,000 per year for the last couple of years. Considering that they've given away about between 11,500-16,500 the last several years, asking what the 800G's are for seems like a reasonable question. Info's about a year old, if the trend held then they hit 1 mil with the year just past.
Hmmm very interesting...I've recently become aware of several wrong doings on lh's part.

Re: CHARITY MONEY
Not to mention, it is not Charity work for the people who get paid and earn their living at this Charity. I'm sure they want to make sure that there are reserves to pay their salaries for the next quarter or two.
Depending on what the annual operating costs are, (I have no idea what they are and don't want to spend time digging for it) $800,000 could be too much or too little.

Also, I prefer the term tax-exempt over charity and nonprofit.

You should inquire of UTD with regard to fixing the current bathrooms. I believe there is a plan to update the facilities (which may or may not be partially paid for by LH) just as some of the other amenities have been upgraded. Those of you that have been around for a while may remember the dirt lots, dirt (mud) path between the upper fields, and the old fields 7, 8, & 9. I doubt any of those upgrades were free to UTD (or LH). Maybe look past the current reserve and ask the board, "on what are you planning to spending that cash?"loveofthegame wrote:How about fixing the bathrooms or servicing the temporary facilities more than once a month?
The porta potties do get serviced often. Unfortunately the UTD college students use them as much if not more than the LH players and spectators. Check out the field usage every weekday and evening.
